An ex-patriate from Seattle, I travel extensively for work and at leisure. I'm based long-term in the Netherlands (after a year at Cambridge (UK)), starting a new business and enjoying the opportunities to see places and explore cultures. I'm a medical scientist by trade, an aspiring artist at rest, and a curious wanderer in spirit. I like to get to the "second paragraph" of the places I visit, seeking out the local haunts and taking the left turn when the road goes right. I swear by Frommer's guides for background, but always rely on local advice on-scene. Unaffiliated, unbiased, (and a rare American liberal...), I'll always share what I've experienced, backed up with pictures and a recommendation for something special nearby, whenever possible...
