I'm a road warrior, spend about 150 nights a year on the road. Since I'm on a per diem, I often look hard for hidden gems in hotels; the ones that give good value for the dollar; I just want to rent the room for a night, not give a down payment on purchasing it. Basically I want a hotel that's clean, comfortable and safe. Rare that I'm in the same town 2 nights in a row, but if I am I look for a little nicer place to stay than I do for one nighters. When traveling with family though I prefer the nicer hotels such as Courtyard or Embassy Suites. My reviews are realistic; I don't expect an economy hotel to be as nice as a Hyatt. I do expect it to be clean and well maintained. I base my hotel ratings as compared to hotels of similar price/features. In other words if I give a Quality Inn an excellent rating, that's as compared to other Quality Inns. Doesn't mean it's like a Hyatt or a Hilton. Safe travels to all!
