In 1999 I decided to travel to New Zealand. I learned a lot about lugging stuff around. Stuff that I didn't need or didn't work well for me. I had a cheap tour pack and a light weight sleeping bag which did not keep me warm on the coldest of nights. I spent too much money, rented cars and wore insanely heavy hiking boots, didn't have a waterproof/windproof jacket and I brought rocks home as souvenirs. A lot has changed since then. These days I travel as light as I can. I've got a smaller backpack, sensible shoes and a waterproof jacket. I always have the next trip or two on the horizon. I'm making it happen. Here's to living an inventive and creative life! Travel on.
