Mabuhay, Sawasdee and Aloha,
I've been traveling in a non-traditional way for 60 years, rarely staying in hotels (4 walls, bad food, high prices). I started "Natural History By Sea Kayak Since 1983" in Hawai'i and paddled the tropical Pacific for the past 24 years, always the first kayaker in out-of-the-way places. I'm a travel academic, journalist Emmy-award video producer and run John Gray's SeaCanoe in Phuket, Thailand.
I first visited Puerto Princesa in 1995 and did the Princesa-Port Barton-El Nido-Coron circuit that year, and started the first sea kayaking in Coron. I've been following Princesa and their unreal environmental ethic ever since, and the past two years took a very academic look at the place. Even so, Princesa residents certainly have strong local knowledge and if we all work together, we can be sure to give the best recommendations to those planning a visit to Puerto Princesa. Be sure to check out my Puerto Princesa slide shows at http://www.johngray-seacanoe.com/gallery/philippines/index.htm Thanks, Ling Yai
