One of the cheapest hotels I found on a summer month in near the main manhattan NYC which usually has expensive hotels if you want a comfortable room, anything much cheaper could be a shared room or shared bathroom, or a backpacker type inn,so I settled for this one to have hotel like comfort and service. Rooms were quite spacious, clean bathrooms, we booked the premier rooms, I wasnt disappointed with them. The bad part of the hotel is the service, no concierge would help us store our luggage and we have to carry almost a dozen bags by ourselves to the storage room. Reception could be better and elevators are tiny and slow. Location is near the central park, subway, small cafes and fastfood joint.

I get it. NY hotels are expensive. But one expects a certain level of comfort for that $$. Days Inn is a run-down %#*& hole that hasn't seen any fresh paint, carpet, maintenance, or real cleaning in a long time. Odors abound (there was likely mildew under that nasty carpet, and no amount of cheap perfume could mask it or the previous smoke - in an otherwise non-smoking room). Bathroom fixtures were wobbly and at least 10 years old. Bath tub needed a good scrub. They definitely need to invest heavily in a serious face-lift, if they continue to charge anything over $100/night. frankly, I think $79 would be all the place would be worth. I read the reviews, and figured one night won't kill me (I had to stay in the area) but not again. "Location" (or rather proximity to the metro) is the only plus I can think of. Everything else makes me warn you: go elsewhere. I stayed recently at both Hotel Newton (literally around the corner) and Belnord (a few block south) and they're both better by a mile. And in the same price range.
Needs a lot of maintenance (neglected by the management)! Jasmine and Yogesh are truly awesome (very helpful)!

Travelling is one thing I love doing and NYC was indeed a dream come true for me. Looking for accommodation was really tough especially in summer and good thing I was able to get a night at Days Inn after cancelling my reservation at The Jane Hotel which I find really too old, dirty and unsafe.
LOCATION. Very strategic. Literally near the train station when you plan to visit the Statue of Liberty, walking distance to CENTRAL PARK and just a short bus away to the TIME SQUARE.
Check-in wasn't rough esp. when you are greeted by a friendly staff. With my not-so-good and friendly experiences in other hotels in America, I would say this front desk staff named Jasmine was one of the bests...friendly and professional. Kudos girl (keep it up)! This industry needs you!
ROOM. Well, compared to The Jane Hotel it was a lot better. I was able to get a better rest from a super duper tiring walk the whole day. We stayed for a night and moved to other hotel and went back a day after. Shockingly, I was given a terrible room (smelled like an ashtray) on my second stay. I've requested if I can have another room since I have allergic rhinitis but sadly my request wasn't attended. Disappointing...i had to sneeze the whole night (sleepless). TIP: If you are not into smoking, make sure you request for the non-smoking room because I really had terrible allergies throughout the night.
WIFI. OH MY GOD! IT DOES SUCKS!!! When you are a very tired tourist or a business traveller and needs to get in touch with your loved ones or answer important emails, you can't stay in your room...you need to go down to the LOBBY for internet connection which I really find inconvenient for tired travellers like me...
STAFF. I would say this hotel is lucky to have someone like Yogesh (a young Indian bellman) who is very willing to assist you whenever you need something (directions and other places to go to). Tries his best to make your stay comfortable and convenient. I am also a hotelier and to have people around like Yogesh and Jasmine is a jackpot. Kudos guys and thank you for at least making my stay comfortable despite the glitches of other services. You guys are truly a gem your company should see and realize. And to the shorter bellman guy(forgot his name) who doesn't have the heart to serve, come on! Put a bit heart in what you do...we people working in this industry need a heart...passion...dedication...just learn to love what you do buddy!
OVERALL. I would say I will still come back but I do hope that the management should not neglect basic maintenance of the facility (esp.in-room WIFI). This hotel has a lot of potentials so do not end up losing good clients like us.
Train your staffs to be more passionate...listen to their basic needs...talk to them...remember, a happy working place can serve better! A happy place creates happy people...happy guests...
Thank you and I hope I can see a better 'DAYS INN' when I get the chance to revisit NYC in the near future.

This Hotel offered a great location for the price. The staff were wonderful. The staff went out of there way to accommodate you. The Hotel is in need of updating, but also there are a lot of other hotels in New York that need updating. The bed was comfy and the room was clean. The Hotel was 1 block to the 1,2,3,9 red line and that was our main transportation to everywhere in Manhattan. There are many places to eat around the Hotel, which was great. There is a pharmacy at the corner of the Hotel if you forget anything for your trip. Central Park is just 3 blocks away. We were with 2 other couples touring and we all stayed at the same hotel.
