I've stayed at the Sure Hotel (which also seems to be called the Hillingdon Prince) a couple of times recently. Great value for money as it was less than half the proce of the local Travelodge on the dates I stayed. First time was a single room in a separate building part of the complex. Very small room but had everything you needed, it looked to have been recently refurbished and was spotlessly clean. Second time I had a double room in the main building, a bit more space and nice and clean. Both rooms had the benefit of a fridge and microwave. The full breakfast with continental buffet was good and not too badly priced at a tenner. Alsdo one advantage unlike the travelodge is that there is parking, a real bonus in Reading where paid parking is pretty expensive.

Pleasent person when booking in. We were shown to a room in another building away from the main hotel. There We're puddles on the way. The room was good, looked as though it had been refurbished. The fried Breakfast on the first morning was good, on the second morning the hash brown was rock hard the fried eggs were hard, the bacon like rubber. We were very dissapointed with it, we can only assume there was a change of chef on the second day. Also there was water coming through the breakfast room ceiling on the second day as it was raining, not good, as they already had water issues. They need to spend money on this hotel to bring it up to a reasonable standard

We booked a family room for 3 for two persons (my wife and me). We were looking for a refurbished twin room, and this room was offered to us. The size was ok for a couple but too small for three persons. Where should the people sit in the evening if there is only one chair? Where do I arrange my clothes if there is only an open hanger but no cupboard? Why do I need a fridge and a micro-wave in the room? Would I book a room that smells from the precessor guest? The bathroom looks newer (tiles, floor) but the tap technology is not adequate to 21st century. Where would you find two separate taps for warm and cold water? Do you first rinse warm water into the sink before you can wash your face with warm water? If you take a shower you want to regulate the temperature yourself but do you first want to dismantle the apparatus to get the water a bit warmer? We booked breakfast in advance for GBP 9.00 but the variety was very limited. Same "bread" (not suitable for European stomachs) every day, always same natural yoghurt, fresh fruit for the cereal from the can. We have expected a bit more for this price. Once in a week (Sunday) room was not serviced which was done again on Monday. We had the room because it was 5 minutes walk away from the appartment of our son who lives in Reading. And it was quiet (location was a big plus!). Next time I would search for a private B&B instead.

Placed in a room that was nothing more than a vacant studio apartment...room was filthy, and was not in anyway connected to the main premises. With no phone, if you wanted to speak to anyone you had to walk outside and across to the main building, For £78 this sort of room was unacceptable. The heating didn't work so when I did go back to the main desk to report this I was provided another room in the main building which was considerably better.

This place isn't expensive, it's a short walk to town, and if all you need is a bed for the night in a clean hotel with no frills or unnecessary extras, it's perfect.
The staff are polite and helpful, the rooms are a decent size, and considering how little we paid for it we couldn't have asked for more.
