Words cannot express how disappointed I am with this hotel. We have booked a standard room which was the biggest double room option at the time. Upon our arrival late in the evening, we have been checked in to the room pictured on the left in my photos. This room was absolutely tiny. After enquiring with reception (to do which, you need to physically get yourself down there as there’s no phone in the room) we were told that we are in fact staying in the standard room and it might seem smaller because some rooms have beds that are 20cm wider and might make the room make smaller. What a ridiculous excuse. After enquiring about changing the rooms, we were told that the hotel is fully booked, which you can appreciate because it’s under renovation, we were told to come back the next morning and they will see what they can do.
Following day we have had breakfast which was absolutely delightful and probably the best thing about this hotel. The decor was beautiful and staff very polite. We then enquired reception about changing rooms and were told none were ready yet and asked to leave a phone number so they could let us know when this is available. The room we got changed to was at least double the size, as you can see in the pictures. It’s so shady of the hotel to not even apologise about it, charge people for rooms advertised online and then put them in something that’s not even close and expect them not to complain.

Besides that, the location is great. The room didn’t have the advertised “tea or coffee facilities”, phone or toiletries in the bathroom. The lift is absolutely tiny. Placement of tv is awkward. Mainly due to the approach and attitude this hotel has towards its customers I wouldn’t stay here again and I wouldn’t recommend it to you either.

This platform and your review is meant to help us improve our product and service and we shall do so.

At the moment we are operating 56 brand new, standard double rooms.
They all vary some in size and shape due to the historic building we are located in, but do have the same standard in all.

Unfortunately as you checked in very late, we no longer had any other room to offer you.
I am however glad to hear you were pleased with the second room that you moved to the day after.

We will consider all of your feedback and perhaps give certain rooms another name or category so we can better meet our guests expectations.

Thank you again and hope you will consider visiting us again once the main building opens.
