First time at a Sure Stay, and likely my last. Booked based on Best Western brand and TA reviews. After our stay looked more closely and noticed that 14/18 5* reviews were placed by people with only 1 review. After my experience I wonder how legitimate these reviews were, or if they were friends of the property.
The good, bed was very comfortable, room was a nice size, and room had a large flat screen tv, fridge and microwave.

The poor; I was told the hotel had just been renovated. The attention to detail was truly lacking, the plumbing was so noisy, you could not hear the tv when you ran the tap, the tap was installed so far back on the sink that every time you used it water splashed all over the counter. The mirror, lamps, towel hooks were installed crocked, the toilet seat was installed poorly and the sticker from the toilet was only torn half off. The toilet paper roll was so tight that you could not get paper off without using two hands and pushing the paper around the roll. The walls were so thin, you could hear the neighbours coughing all night, and the window curtains were too narrow and short that they let light in all night and blew up every time the heating unit turned on, which it did frequently. The ac unit leaked all over the outside of the room corridor, so you were always stepping over streams of water, they did have some pail to catch the drips. You could see they painted the cement floors, but the paint was poorly done and peeling. Parking stalls were tight, and if the motel was full would be hard to manoeuvre in the narrow aisle.

Breakfast on TA indicated waffles and bacon, there were neither, there were microwaved eggs and sausage, along with the same one flavour of yogurt every day, strawberry banana. Coffee and juice was out by 8:40 and it was hit and miss if someone came out to make more. There were also fruit flies everywhere, and they had a half cup with solution out to catch them at the front desk.

The pool has been closed since November, but yet it’s hours are advertised at the front desk. They had silk poinsettia plants in the breakfast area, that still had the big price tags on them. How hard is it to removed a tag? While none of these items, were that significant, it really did not uphold the best western brand I’ve become accustomed too. I’ve attached a few pictures. Just everything here felt sloppy, I hope my feedback will help them consider easy fixes to significantly improve future customer stays.
