It is rich in culture, traditions, language and music. After a long day of activities, a short walk (1 minute from the house) will take you to the four pubs in the village where food is available and lively traditional music is guaranteed most nights during the summer period. Very spacious and comfortable house in a perfect location with great views
Four of us booked this house for a long weekend at the end of September/beginning of November. The location is perfect, in a quiet development within the village of Ballyferriter, with great views over Smerwick Harbour, Ceann Sibeal and the Three Sisters. Very comfortable, plenty of space and all the facilities we could ask for. Sea swimming, hill walking, whale and dolphin watching, museums and the Blasket interpretative centre all within easy reach.

Wonderful Cottage
We were delighted with this wonderful, spacious cottage, the beds were comfortable and it was exceptionally clean with all the necessary amenities. It is situated above Ballyferriter village with lovely views of the sea and mountains, and is a 2 minute walk to the local shop and pubs - Murphy's pub serves very good food. The cottage is well located to explore the Dingle Peninsula and Ring of Kerry - stunning drives and scenery. The owner's sister Sharon gave us a very warm welcome and send off and couldn't have been more helpful. We will definitely be back.

Fantastic house
Stayed for a week in this lovely house. It has everything you need, spacious living area, lovely bedrooms with great showers and loutdoor seating area. It is within a minutes walk of the village where there is a shop with an atm, lots of pubs and plenty of places to eat nearby. We met Sharon, the owner’s sister and she was very welcoming and friendly. Would love to stay there again.

Great house, great hosts
This is a very nice house in a great location, and the O'Connors are the best hosts ever. We met four of the family during our visit, and besides their being a friendly lot, younger brother Brian actually changed a flat tire for us and saved us an immense amount of trouble. The house is right in the heart of Ballyferriter, a small village with four pubs (three with restaurants), a new shop, and two beaches. The house is very comfy and has all the mod cons. We look forward to being back someday.

Fantastic holiday in Ballyferriter
I stayed in Ballyferitter with my family. The location is spot on when trying to get the best out of Dingle. The village has lots of amenities like a local shop, plenty of pubs and restaurants and a playground. Its in a very tranquil and beautiful setting with the sea in the front and lots of mountains to hike in the background. The house was the perfect place for us to stay. Its in a very beautiful and central spot of the village and you get excellent views of the surrounding area... a nice way to to wake up every morning. The house is very spacious with a garden and all things you need for a self catering holiday. Micheal, the owner of the house, and his family provided a very comforting and pleasant stay. We will definitely return.

A Wonderful Retreat!!
After reading all of the flawless reviews, my wife and I decided to spend a week in An Maimin', and it still exceeded our expectations. This house is in such a beautiful, peaceful setting. Close to the beach, close to the mountains, close to the breath taking and unforgettable Slea Head Drive, and 15 minutes to Dingle. If you are looking for a place to unwind and relax, and a base to absorb the history and beauty of the Dingle Peninsula, you will not regret staying here. To borrow a phrase from one of the other reviewers, it is absolutely "modern, clean, spacious and very nicely decorated." It is also a very very safe and quiet place to enjoy the treasures of Ireland!! Dont stay at a hotel! Light up the fireplace, pour yourself a glass of Tullamore, and enjoy this warm comfortable house at the top of the hill in Ballyferriter.

Home away from home in Ballyferriter
An Maimin was the perfect house and location for us to enjoy our visit to Ballyferriter and the surrounding area. So many great beaches, walks with breathtaking views all around. We liked being located in the village, so the kids could pop to the shop, and indeed we could soak up some atmosphere in the pubs in the evenings. The house is really spacious, kept in great condition and has everything one needs for a comfortable stay. The outdoor space is secure for children to play outside. There is a good playground just a short walk outside the village too. Both Sharon and Michael checked in with us to be sure that we had all that we needed, which was very thoughtful and friendly service. There is still much for us to explore in the region, so we would happily stay here again.

Heaven in Ireland
We spent 7 nights in this beautiful, welcoming home. Our family of four which included two teens, felt right at home in this bright, spacious home away from home. The kitchen served us well as we prepared our breakfasts and dinners each day. The three bathrooms, washer and dryer, dishwasher and the wifi made this vacation restful and comfortable for our family. The location was perfect! We enjoyed daily walks/runs to the beach and up into the hills. We love to be outdoors so our days were spent hiking in the area. Some that are not to be missed are Eask Tower overlooking the Dingle Harbor, Sybil Head, the Three Sisters and Mt. Brandon. We enjoyed the local beach as well as Wine Strand, Ventry and Coumeenoole. Slea Head drive was amazing and just a few steps from our front door! Dingle was a delight to explore and just a few minutes down the road. Micheal and his sister Sharon were wonderful hosts. They checked in with us periodically and were very helpful with information and suggestions. The village of Ballyferriter suited our needs perfectly. The pubs were delightful for a bite to eat or a pint while enjoying the soccer games on tv with locals and visitors. My girls were particularly thrilled with the abundance of animals in the area. They enjoyed the cows in the local pastures, sheep in the hills, horses just a short walk down the road and the tiny kitten that visited daily. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in this beautiful home. We know this special place is perfect for the young and old, couples or families.

A house that invites return... in a blessed part of Ireland.
This house in Ballyferriter I recommend with a smiling and grateful enthusiasm. “An Maimin” was very comfortable... easy... restful, uncomplicated, and spacious too... and a view! a new variation on the theme "location, location, location". Dingle is of course simply magnificent, and the view from this house spreads out, downward, across and upward, to embrace Smerwick Harbour and a wide sweep of the peninsula, ending with crags glowering or smiling over the ocean (depending on the weather). To open the front door, to look out from a window, is to be greeted with a view that embraces heart and mind, and invites exploration. Walks are a plenty... along lengthy or short beaches... or choose cliff and mountainy hill scrambles... Be tempted to end the day with a late evening dander up the road behind the house and feel another splendid view... which should reduce you to patient looking and meditation.... We were at ease in An Maimin and that was an essential part of our enjoyment. The owner’s sister was a lovely and engagingly smiling presence and help... reassuring and a face of the local community. Ballyferriter may be small but just down the short hill there are three or four places to eat heartily or simply ... and wishes for a grand holiday easily fall from local lips. We will be back and with more of the family... and hopefully in this central, helpful house.
