BEACHES: all beaches are public in Barbados even in all the inclusive hotels but you'll need a public access to get in. The nearest beach to the apartment is in front of Crystal Cove hotel, the public access is on the left side facing the ocean (a few minutes walk from the apartment).
Barbados is famous for it's beautiful beaches and endless possibilities of water sports. Just to name a few:
PADDLE BOARDING: boards and training available in Paynes Bay
SURF: depending on weather conditions surfing is one of the best on the west coast (but also on the east coast for experienced surfers)!. Kite and wind surfing in Silver Sands
SNORKELLING: is best in the turquoise waters of Caribbean Sea on the west coast.
Loads of companies offer CATAMARAN day or sunset cruises that include snorkelling by ship wrecks, swimming with turtles and tropical fish.
There's also SCUBA DIVING programmes available.
GOLF: West coast : Sandy Lane ( 2.3 km = 4 mins drive, superb golf courses with fabulous views, world class standard ), Apes Hill (10 km away = 15 mins drive), Royal Westmoreland (7 km = 12 mins drive) South coast : Barbados Golf Club and Rockley (13 km = 26 mins drive)
There are a lot of events, such as horse races, polo, Barbados Sol rally, carting and of course wonderful beaches, swimming, sailing, diving , snorkelling , parties and rum punch.

About the neighborhood
The apartment is located in Saint James Parish which provides the perfect base for your holiday. The area is becoming known as the playground of the rich and famous, and a haven for tourists. St. James is knows as the 'Platinum Coast', reflective of the parishes many beach-front mansions, pristine beaches, luxury hotels and high land prices. White-sand beaches include calm Paynes Bay and exclusive Sandy Lane. Holetown was the site of the first British settlement, in the 17th century, and is now popular for its nightlife and designer shops. St James Parish is great for shopping, restaurants, night life and historical attractions including the St. James Parish Church, the Portvale Sugar Factory.
PUBLIC TRANSPORT: if preferred you don't need to rent a car. The bus stops in both directions are just at the end of the street , on the main road. A single fare is $2 Bdos , distance doesn't matter- blue government buses and yellow private buses charge the same amount. Direct routes to Holetown, Speightstown, Bridgetown, Oistins and the airport, regular service till around 11 pm
GETTING TO THE CONDO FROM THE AIRPORT:the easiest way to get to the condo is by taxi which should cost around 60 $ Bdos =30 USD. Please make sure you talk to someone by the official taxi stand just outside of the arrivals.There you will see a price list with all the fares.Alternatively you use a public bus which will only cost you 2$ Bdos but it takes a long time
