Ruswarp, Whitby, Scarborough District, North Yorkshire, England
This unusual and unique property is a Victorian, Grade II listed converted ticket office, offering a romantic retreat for two people. This Victorian, Grade II listed ticket office has been imaginatively converted and has retained many of its original features. The sitting, kitchen and dining area are all on open plan, and the compact, well-equipped kitchen and farmhouse style dining area are cleverly screened by the spiral staircase from the warm and inviting sitting room with its original ticket office cast iron fireplace and tiles. Winding through this delightfully quirky property, the spiral stairs go up to the eaves where the cosy and intimate cabin style bedroom awaits, and the bathroom is also housed in this space. The lawned area to the front of the property may be enjoyed by the guests. This is a beautiful property and makes a pe... Read more

There is only 1 window that opens, this is in the form of a sky light in the bedroom area, which, unless you are 6ft plus [ which we are not] you have to take a chair upstairs and stand on it in order to open the...

I'm a massive (6'5") rail fan and selected this cottage largely cos of this. The location is fantastic. The downstairs of the property is nice but retains little of the original detail. The spiral stair looks OK but is not great for a big man. Upstairs.........Well, no pics I notice. The bed....Very comfy when you can get in but rubbish covers. We swapped around so that we could get in/out easily. The bathroom....No room for...

The ticket office is accurately described by the owner, it is small but has all a couple need to enjoy a break in a lovely unusual location. The accommodation is very well equipped, it has a real flame gas fire and electric radiators so...
