House Number Five
Traveled with group to Grand Cayman in late July this was our first experience with renting a Villa in the Caribbean, didn't know what to expect. Spoke to the Property manager Sean by phone and via email and everything want smooth 1/2 payment in advance and the remainder went through on card two days after we checked in. We arrived on island, walked to car rental facility and off we were...The Villas were easy to locate. The Villa was clean and the pool crystal clear. We noticed two cats (please do not shoo away) these are the security officers for the property. The kitchen has everything you need for breakfast lunch or dinner. There were three bathrooms stocked with plenty of towels and in the downstairs bathroom there are Four big Beach Towels.
There are Flat screen TVs in the up stairs lounge and one down stairs in the living area. WiFi and an cable are provided, there is a phone with free local calls. Outside you have a table and chairs that give a beautiful view of the ocean, along with a hammock. The grounds are clean the atmosphere quiet. The water pressure is high and the hot water stays hot even after seven people showered. The AC blows really cold and there are blinds for your privacy. The property has a stack unit washer and dryer combo. There are trash bags and cleaning materials for life's little spills. We kept our doors open while at the property and felt really safe ...after finding a large dark blue scorpion (night time out side) we went on lock down mode...if you leave closed shoes or anything out side on the porch area that something can crawl into and hide in you will find it occupied in the morning (shell crabs, lizards, or large bugs). There are tiny & big crabs everywhere they don't bother you. The beach was nice not really good for swimming; but once you get past the rocks its beautiful for snorkeling with fish everywhere (swim when the tide is the highest to avoid rocks. There is a local owned market approximately 3 miles from the villa...its nice has the basics...beverages cheese , eggs chips, soda syrup and butter. 6 miles away at the junction there is a gas station with a little less variety but everything you need ,these are the last two stops before you get to Rum Point.
This property is worth the money and the staff very helpful. We give Kudos to Andre and Janet. Andre (Andre took us home for dinner and it was amazing) they came back two days later and cooked a wonderful meal. This side of the Island is nice and quiet "unless you bring noise and drama with you" I found the Property to be safe well maintained and up to date. (my only suggestion is that they ditch the DVDs and put Roku typed devices in the villas the movies were dated. I would recommend this property to Couples, families and Groups who don't want to be nickel and dimed to death by death by Hotels and Resorts. The villa has dish washing liquid and laundry soap. Andre is at the property from Tuesday to Saturday and you will find him to be very helpful, If you need something tell Andre and he will get it for you. Our flight was delayed, I contacted Sean about getting the other people in our party into the villa , Sean responded within the hour with instructions. I found reserving and checking in to this property to be easier than checking into any hotel or Resort I have ever visited.
