A beautifully renovated 17th century chateau, full of light and charm. Entrance is via a tree-lined avenue on 52 acres of private woods, meadows and farmland. A beautifully sculptured grand courtyard meets you at the entry. The foyer has a stunning 3-storey high chandelier of 100 lights. The public rooms comprises of living room, dining room, TV room, library, breakfast room and a grand play room. Public areas have original artwork, with leather or silk upholstered furniture and designer lighting. All beds are wonderfully comfortable. All bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms, with four bedrooms sharing two bathrooms but with private entries. A state of the art kitchen with high end (Miele) appliances enough to fit two chefs. Before departure, you will be given instructions on how to get to the property. The owner will be happy to liaise with you and advise Yiu on how to get there. You will also be provided with a reading list on what to do in the Dordogne, restaurants to go to as well as other relevant information. There will be a manager to greet guests, and explain how the equipment in the chateau works and to check out the guests. There will be cleaners for a mid week clean and towel change. The manager will be available on the telephone to answer questions throughout your stay.

About the neighborhood
The Dordogne is one of the greenest part of France with beautiful valleys. It's Verzere Valley is also known as the Valley of Man where prehistoric man of 40,000 years ago lived. There are prehistoric museums, cave art drawn 17,000 years ago at Lascaux and underground limestone caves 100 m high.
The Dordogne is also the gastronomical capital of France with many Michlin star restaurants close to the chateau in Perigueux. Duck, goose, foie gras and wine are very Perigourdine specialities. It is the land of 1000 chateaux, many grand and magnificent, and available for public viewing. It ha rivers on which you can go down in a river boat or canoe. It also many places to ride your bicycle and many walks on which you can hike.

It is necessary to have a car to see places in the Dordogne. A chateau by its very nature is an expansive property with big grounds, which means that neighbours are few and far between.
