The perfect base for our stay in North Devon, just south of Barnstaple, the North Coast beaches and resorts are easily accessible, as are Barnstaple and Bideford. Everything you need is provided in the Lodge, and it's very comfortable, especially the upstairs lounge area, and the balcony offers fantastic views. Ideal for bird watching as well. Beds were nice, as we're the two bathrooms. There is a pub (The Portsmouth Arms) close by, and the landlord, Steve will arrange a taxi to get you there and back if you pop in and ask him, the hill was too much for us, so the taxi was essential. Sarah is the perfect host, and very quick to respond to emails etc. Will definitely book again in the future.

Just returned from a short stay at Brivalley View which we used as a base while visiting relatives in Chulmleigh. We had originally planned to stay in a B&B until my wife spotted this place on the Internet. I’m so pleased she did as it was ideal. The lodge feels brand new, tastefully decorated with good quality fixtures and fittings and spotlessly clean. It’s cleverly laid out with the kitchen, dining area, bedrooms and bathrooms on the ground floor and the upper floor one large living area with huge balcony overlooking the valley. The view from the balcony is spectacular and it would be a lovely place to sit for breakfast or chilling in the evening (weather permitting). Sarah, the owner, seems to have thought of everything for your stay. Every cooking utensil you would ever need along with cleaning products, iron, hair dryer, dog bowls, poo bags etc. The bedrooms are quite small but have all you need and the beds were very comfy. It was lovely and quiet and we all slept like a logs. Would highly recommend and will definitely use again next time we visit the family.

A modern, clean and well equipped property with a large balcony that afforded stunning views over the Taw Valley. I would thoroughly recommend this property for a quiet get away. It is close to the beautiful beaches of Croyde, Saunton and Westward Ho! I would also recommend visiting the local LJ's pantry for a home-made pastie and the excellent Weir Marsh Farm for a five star five course meal! We will be back.

Brivalley view is a lovely modern property. The views are amazing. Very peaceful apart from some building work that was going on , but have been advised that should be completed soon. Evenings were so beautifully quiet. Somewhere to get away from it all , a car is a definite must. The drive up to the property is very steep so please be aware it is has no tarmac at the moment but the lovely owner had informed me that this will be part of the building work to be done. It is a nice base to visit other parts of Devon .Saunton Sands is lovely and about a 40 min drive away. Barnstaple is a good town to visit for a day out. All in all a nice break away. Hopefully may book again in the future.

Fantastic location, quiet & peaceful with amazing views from the large balcony.The house is brand new, lovely decor, modern & spotlessly clean. Well equipped with washer/dryer & dishwasher. The owner has thought to provide everything you could possibly need for your stay. Great walks for the dog and beaches and Barnstaple town not to far away in the car. We had a wonderful, chilled week and are already looking forward to going back again.

This property is beautiful it is set in a stunning area the views are amazing. The property is beautifully furnished & extremly well equipment. Had a most enjoyable stay plenty of places to visit. Was a bit concerned about having to sleep on a sofa bed but it was very, very comfortable & it is so quiet & peaceful . Would highly recommend this property to stay in
