Haydon Bridge is a pretty village on the River Tyne, situated almost exactly halfway between Newcastle upon Tyne and Carlisle. It has good local amenities including a Co-op, Post Office, newsagent, pharmacy, coffee house, fish and chip shop, 3 pubs and an excellent local butcher.
Close by are Hadrian's Wall, Haydon Old Church, Langley Castle and the historical market town of Hexham with its Abbey and pretty winding streets. Within easy driving distance are Newcastle upon Tyne, Carlisle, Northumberland National Park, Kielder Water and Forest Park, the picturesque North Pennines (AONB) and the beautiful Northumberland coastline.
