Just a few kilometers from artistic cities like Volterra, Siena, San Gimignano and right outside the characteristic little village of Pomarance, where you will find a supermarket (“Coop”), restaurants and pizzerias, a grocery store, a post office, a bank, a pharmacy, a bar/cafè and some sport facilities.

From the farmhouse, it is very easy to get to the Theater of Silence (Teatro del Silenzio) in Lajatico, the hometown of the famous tenor Andrea Bocelli. Once a year, in July, he hosts a concert with his guests in this wonderful open air amphitheater.
The agritourism offers many services to his clients: a large garden fenced all round, a parking area, a private lovely swimming pool with Jacuzzi (which will open the first week of July) and a solarium for you to enjoy and relax, a smaller pool for children. Also at your disposal: barbecue area with a brick oven and a nice outdoor space for having meals admiring the breathtaking panorama, paved pergola patio for sitting and dining al fresco, laundry area.
The house is divided into 4 flats, each one with its private entrance: two on the ground floor (Girasole and Giaggiolo) and two on the first floor (Giglio and Gladiolo).
Giglio (Lily)
This apartment is situated on the first floor and can accommodate up to 4 people. It has a spacious living area, furnished with wooden table and chairs, a built-in country-style kitchen (equipped with gas cooker, oven, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, coffee machine, kettle), a double bedroom, a twin bedroom with two beds and a bathroom. A large rustic arch connects the open kitchen with the living area. The master bedroom includes a king-size bed and a large window with splendid view over the surrounding hills and woods. Bathroom with w.c., basin, shower and bidet.

Each flat is provided with: fully-equipped kitchen, internet connection, strongbox, heating, hot water, bed linen and towels, phon, iron (by request).

Es war fantastisch.....
Wir, 2 Erwachsene und 1 Tochter (15 Jahre), verbrachten 9 wunderbare Tage in der Wohnung im 1. Stock. Das ganze Anwesen ist sehr gepflegt, die Wohnung war sehr sauber und geräumig. Am neu angelegte Pool ( mit Whirlpool) konnte man sich gut erfrischen oder auch den ganzen Tag entspannen. Es wurde letztes Jahr erst alles renoviert. Wir haben jeden zweiten Abend gemütlich mit mehreren Feriengästen das sehr gute toskanische Menue, dass Giudetta zusammen mit ihrer Mutter gekocht hat, bei ein paar Flaschen selbstgemachten Wein genossen.
Von der Anlage aus sind die nächsten Ausflugsziele, wie z. B. Volterra, San Gimignano, Siena, Lucca und auch Pisa gut zu erreichen. Zum nächsten Supermarkt nach Pomarance waren es ca. 5 km, man kann dort alles bekommen.
Für uns war die Anlage der ideale Ort um immer wieder Ausflüge zu machen, uns aber auch am Pool zu erholen. Wir können es jederzeit weiterempfehlen.

A delightful stay in Tuscany
Our week long stay at L'Antica Quercia - Giglio was delightful. We were made very welcome by Giuditta and her family. The farmhouse itself is superb having just been thoroughly renovated to a very high standard. The accommodation was modern and updated to a high specification while still keeping many of its original features. The swimming is brand new, a good size and was great for cooling off! Although the farmhouse is in a rural location, it is within driving distance of Florence, Pisa, Siena, Volterra and Cecina on the coast - we visited them all.
An option my family and I thoroughly enjoyed was to have dinner with Giuditta, her family and friends. We enjoyed delicious authentic Tuscan dishes cooked by Giuditta and her mother. We also found some lovely local restaurants to have dinner.
All in all, we would thoroughly recommend L'Antica Quercia - Goglio and look forward to returning soon.

Fantastic apartment which offered great facilities, location and an owner who made us feel especially welcome.
We stayed for one week in August 2014 in Giglio as a family of 6 (2 adults, 3 children and 1 infant). Giuditta and her family went out of their way to ensure our stay was as comfortable as possible and by far exceeded our expectations. The apartment was especially welcoming, clean with all the necessary essentials required by a young family. The children especially enjoyed the pool which had just been completed a few weeks before our arrival. Giuditta and her family cooked a traditional Tuscan meal for us on 3 nights (at an extra but very reasonable and worthwhile cost) which we thoroughly enjoyed.
I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone considering a quiet traditional Tuscan farmhouse location with lots to explore in the local area.
