Ideales Resort consists of 12 luxurious villas with private swimming pools and BBQ. Ideales Resort was completed in 2009. It is situated in south Kefalonia (in Trapezaki), only 12 km from Argostoli (the Capital) at the foot of the legendary mount Ainos, known for its famous black fir and wild horses. At a close distance (only a few hundred meters) there are beautiful sandy beaches with turquoise waters. The villas at Ideales Resort vary in size, but thanks to the very large spaces, they can receive comfortably couples, families or large groups of friends. Their decoration is refined and functional with warm touches that leave you with a familiar feeling. The Grand 4 bedroom villa Linatela is spread over two floors, with the main living areas at the entry level. On the first floor there is a well appointed spacious living room, with feature stone fireplace and comfortable seating. The living room adjoins an open space formal dining area and a separate kitchen with direct access to a pergola shaded balcony, with outdoor dining set. There are approximately 7 steps of an exterior staircase that lead from the kitchen to the pool deck. The pool deck extends to a spacious pergola-shaded sitting/dinning area, ideal for outdoor dining or a cool sunset drink. On returning to the main hall there is a marble staircase that leads to the ground floor and main sleeping area. All four bedrooms of the villa are en suite. The master bedroom features a private sitting room and opens to a shaded outdoor area with garden furniture. Two additional bedrooms grant direct access to the garden and offer outdoor seating. Lovely villa, few issues.....

We stayed at Linatela for a week in September this year. Firstly I'd say the villa itself is lovely, well stocked and a good amount of space. I would have given it 5* if rating on this alone. The negatives were mainly around the mail service and lack of communication when checking in. Having stayed in three different Kefalonia villas I didn't worry about the the twice weekly maid service as we are pretty clean as a family! Saying that I still expected the toilet "bins" to be emptied everyday. It was strange that the maids came 7 days a week to collect kitchen rubbish and recycling but left the toilet bins, I just felt this unhygienic as after three days they were rather full! The other aspect was that on the two cleaning days (Tues/Thursday) when we returned from our days out we found windows and doors left open. I know this was to dry the floors but security considerations should be made as we left at 9am everything was secure only to find when we returned 7pm (Fiscardo day trip) the 2nd largest bedroom (roadside) to have its patio doors wide open. Ok there is a safe but larger objects (laptop/ipad etc) could easily have been stolen for which no responsibility is taken by the villa owners (standard I know). I thought this disappointing. I would say again the villa is lovely but the distances quoted on most websites underestimate the walking times to beach/tavernas. Its at least 30 minutes to walk to the beach, 10 mins to nearest taverna and 20-25 to better ones. I'd say anyone with walking difficulties would struggle as along with this and all toilets are downstairs so if you have mobility issues it means there's several steps involved to get to the toilet even if you're sat by the pool! To conclude, a lovely villa but better for 2 families who have 2 kids each (two twin rooms, two doubles) who enjoy walking :-) Only other thing I think they should address is that there's only one key so if you all go out separately (not unreasonable in a villa that sleeps 8) you need to confirm who's first back etc. We asked for a 2nd key but this wasn't possible. Meant several roaming charges on the mobile to time things right! It would also have been nice to have a welcome pack of some sort. We were left one dishwasher tablet and one washing powder tablet where a bottle of water or bread would have been more useful after travelling. We had to drive out to the supermarket to stock up immediately which compared to previous Kefalonia visit was unusual. To finish on a positive - pool and area area was great! Pool guy came everyday and it was an extremely nice area.

First trip to Kephalonia

We spent a week at the villa with our friends and all our children (young adults). We had the most perfect holiday at Linatela, the villa could not have been better equiped, located or more comfortable. Everything was to a very high standard and extremely clean. The pool and BBQ area were amazing and very well used by our group. The bedrooms especially as they all had their own en suite were a god send with six women wanting to get ready at the same time. The little touches made us feel very welcome, No noise from other villas. The views from every aspect were outstanding, mountains or sea. Local supermarkets and bakery kept us well fed at reasonable prices, we made good use of the BBQ. Local restaurants were all so welcoming and the food was a great standard, especially, Gefiri and the Olive Lounge. 360 bar for families and kareoke. The cocktail bar in Trepezaki was lovely with great views and friendly staff. Not disappointed with any of the beaches we visited but would give Antisamos the vote for the views.
