The house can accommodate up to 19 guests comfortably whilst offering a unique accommodation experience as the name of the house implies.
The main building, the House of Literature, is a two storey house offering 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The first floor offers two master bedrooms one with 2 twin antique beds (120x190), en-suite bathroom and two balconies and a second one with a queen size antique bed (170x210), en-suite bathroom and balcony.
The House of Poetry can be used additionally if the guests visiting are more than 8 and is located right next to the House of Literature. A small tastefully decorated cottage that offers at the ground floor one master bedroom with a queen size bed (160x200), a bathroom with shower as well as a and fully-equipped kitchen with sitting area. A few steps lead to the open plan loft that offers 2 full beds (135x190). This house offers 2 small verandas that access the courtyard and a special shaded patio area with an old well and stone-built benches.
Also the third cottage, the House of Prose can accommodate 4 extra guests. This house has one ground floor with a small kitchen and sitting area, a bathroom with shower as well as a bedroom with double bed. Its veranda offers access to the courtyard whereas there is an upper floor open loft bedroom with a large double bed.
Two extra fold up beds can be added in either of the houses.
A special touch in the overall experience is the villa’s library with a selection of English books, including rare editions and out-of-print books. Upon Arrival the guests can enjoy a tour at our library and borrow some of the books to read during their stay.

**Please note that for bookings up to 8 guests only the House of Literature (main villa) will be available.
For bookings from 9 to 13 guests the House of Literature and House of Poetry will be available.

***Kindly note that according to the accommodation’s policies there is a fully refundable* damage deposit of 350.00 Euros, payable in cash upon arrival, applicable for all guests in case of serious damage to the property and all items therein.
*The damage deposit is refunded on the day of departure after the relevant inspection of the property.

Please note that the swimming pool can be used daily between 9 am to 9 pm.
Earlier/Later use is not possible due to maintenance and cleaning that takes place daily.
Damages Deposit: All houses have been furnished with great care and many pieces of furniture are one-of-a-kind, including original pieces of artwork. There is a fully-refundable damages deposit of 350 euro upon arrival applicable for all guests unless the damages deposit has been waived.
Villa mit zwei kleineren Häusern nebenan auf dem Grundstück, alles sehr gepflegt. Viele Sitzmöglichkeiten, komplett ausgestattet, gute Betreuung, phantastischer Pool. Danke an Demetria und ihren Mann für die Arrangements.
Wichtig: es ist auf dem Land, ein Mietwagen ist notwendig, kleiner Supermarkt liegt um die Ecke (10 min zu Fuss) und man darf sich nicht an dem Hahn in der Nachbarschaft stören.
Wir waren nur vier Tage dort, die Abreise fiel schwer

Beautiful, peaceful villa
We were a group of 5 families, 10 adults and 9 children, and we had a fantastic stay at Sarakino Villa. There was plenty of space in the main house and 2 smaller cottages for our group. The gardens are beautiful, with lots of different areas, including a fantastic pool area, bbq and outdoor kitchen under the olive trees, ping pong table, shaded pagoda, orchard area and much more. It is an easy 5 minute walk to the little village, with small shop and giros takeaway/restaurant. Nearest beach is about a 10 minute drive, with taxis easily available if you don’t have a car. The property manager Spiros was very helpful and friendly, even bringing us treats from his garden. Would highly recommend for large groups wanting a peaceful retreat, with an abundance of indoor and outdoor space; we had a fantastic week and didn’t want to leave.

A beautiful holiday destination
We were a party of 10 so had two villas. They were both beautiful and we had plenty of space. You do need a car to get around but if you just want peace and quite Sarakino is the perfect place! Spiros was so helpful and always on call if we needed anything

Fantastic rural villa
We had a wonderful stay at Sarakino House of Literature. Such a beautiful, idyllic villa in the heart of Zakynthos. We were a group of 12 friends and the villa was perfect for our needs. The pool area was fantastic with Spiros coming to clean every morning and evening. The large kitchen was great for hosting, and lots of dining space, inside and outside to eat. The bedrooms were well designed with two ensuites and two other bedrooms in the main house, and two additional bedrooms in the House of Poetry. Both hosts were very cautious of Covid rules and took our temperatures on arrival. The air con was great for the hot days, and a welcome basket was much appreciated on the first day. The house was very clean on arrival, and matched the photos exactly.
The location was perfect for us, with shops and beaches nearby. Although inland, we hired two cars from the airport, which was great to explore the island. During our stay we visited Alykanas, Shipwreck Beach, Zante town and Tsivili.
Fantastic stay all round, will definitely be back!

What a wonderful villa!
We were a group of 13 adults who stayed for a week using all three houses.
We had a lovely time, the house is spacious, nicely furnished, very comfortable beds, great en-suites. We spent a great deal of time in the garden, swimming in the large pool (so clean and warm!), eating at the big table, reading under the porch, looking at the lovely view. The bird and insect life was amazing, - nesting swallows, bats, huge butterflies.
A big thank you to Spiros and his wife for making the stay so easy. They arranged airport transfers and car hire, all of which went smoothly. Spiros looked after the pool morning and evening, and gave valuable advice about beaches and places to visit. Any requests were quickly attended to, and Spiros's wife did a superb midweek clean and change of linen.

Full of character and the perfect place to relax!
We visited for 10 days in July, first with a group of friends for three days, and then for a week with family and children. This was the perfect villa for a large group. Lovely cool air-conditioned rooms, lots of characterful seating areas and places to relax, and a clean and welcoming pool that saw a lot of use!
The gardens are large and packed with fruit trees, and the location is perfect for those looking to get away from it all. Easy access to anywhere on the island with taxis or by car, and the most incredible views across vineyards and olive groves to the hills in the distance.
The team who run the villa, particularly Spyros the caretaker, are very much part of the experience and took great pride in every aspect from cleaning the villa to advising on day-trips and even booking hire cars. We asked a lot of them and they were always happy to help :D
Thanks to everyone at Sarakino House of Literature for making our holiday so special!

Perfect Villa in Zakynthos - House of Literture
We just came back from a 1 week vacation in Zakynthos
We were an extended family of 14 people: 8+6 children
It was the best villa we ever got in the Greek islands. our family is going every summer
to a villa in one of the Greek Islands.
The main points:
very big villa,
6 bedrooms (in 2 buildings), + a huge living room, 4 bathing rooms
extremly nice host (John, the father of Emmanuela Stamiri, and his wife).
very large pool and sunbeds.
WiFi in the buildings and pool.
Beautiful house, well kept
very big grounds surrounded by green fruits trees and vineyard.
10 minutes from the beach.
Many good restaurants around (10 minutes drive)
not more than 45 minutes to any beach in Zakynthos.
Must have a car.
I can't say any negative word.

The area is very peaceful offering a couple of traditional taverns nearby. Offering a lot of different routes your can choose between visiting the eastern part of the island which offers beautiful sandy beaches such as Alykes or Tsilivi and the northern part with pebble beaches like Xigia and Makris Gialos.
