An ancient castle dating back to the time of Leonardo da Vinci is the perfect backdrop for a vacation in Tuscany! The views are to die for. Sleeping up to twenty two, this large castle near Arezzo is great for family reunions and celebrations. The large estate produces Chianti wine and olive oil. The location is well suited for exploring Eastern and Southern Tuscany, including Arezzo, Cortona, Siena and Montepulciano. Belonging to the same family for centuries, this Castello with a private chapel, lies at the center of a large estate producing Chianti wine and olive oil which you can buy directly from the farm. The garden, which overlooks the valley, is surrounded by centuries-old trees, and on the stone panoramic terrace is a private swimming pool (16 x 6 meters) with a Roman staircase lined with mosaic work. There are two bathroom/dressing rooms, and a small gym. The terrace is lit up at night by large wrought-iron lamps. (700 m2) <b>Ground Floor:</b> The entrance leads to the dining room with a corner kitchen and a large dining table for 22 people. There is direct access to the garden via a large glass wrought-iron door, with another large table for 22 people, opposite the large gazebo. The living room has a large stone fireplace, satellite TV and direct access to the garden. The main kitchen is equipped with an oven, large refrigerator, microwave oven, dishwasher and American coffee maker, and can be accessed from the outside. The first bedroom has a double bed. There is a bathroom with a bath tub. The second double bedroom has an en suite bathroom with a shower and access to the rear garden. <b>First Floor:</b> There is a living room with a large stone fireplace, satellite TV and access to the balcony. Additionally, there is a complete kitchen and one double bedroom with an en suite bathroom with shower. <b>Second Floor:</b> There is a large double bedroom with three windows, a king size bed, single sofa bed, and a large en suite bathroom with a bathtub. One twin bedroom has a bathroom with shower and independent access from the outside. There is a double bedroom with bathroom with shower and satellite TV. There is a double bedroom with bathroom with bathtub, satellite TV and exit onto the panoramic terrace. There is a large suite with two king size double beds, a single sofa-bed, walk-in closet and bathroom with shower. Additionally, there is a small kitchen for breakfasts. (The first and second floors have air-conditioning). <b>Extra Services:</b> The following are listed as an aid for trip planning; the services and prices are approximate and cannot be guaranteed by Rentvillas. About the neighborhood
The ancient Castello lies in a panoramic position and is shown on the map of Valdichiana drawn by Leonardo da Vinci in 1503. The Castello is 5 kilometers from the Etruscan town of Monte San Savino where there are excellent restaurants. Arezzo, the setting for Roberto Benigni's Life is Beautiful, is located just twenty kilometers away. It is a city characterized by an array of architectural styles, from Etruscan ruins to the Roman amphitheatre and the Medici Fortress. The first weekend of each month features a popular antique fair, while annually the town hosts a festival called Joust of the Saracens, where all of the citizens dress in medieval attire to watch knights charge at a target (representing the Saracen king).
