The property has nearly everything we wanted. Superbly equipped kitchen. Lovely pool. UK TV for those wet Saturdays we brought with us from home. Apparently it hadn't rained in September for some years, then we turned up. Owners and helpers very attentive if anything was needed but in no way intrusive. Taxi's into Los Alcazares about 11 Euros each way so not bad. Only downside for me was the flies, but you are in a hot country and not too far from farm land so expected. A good fly repellent on top of the normal insect repellent is needed too, or go to the beach. All in all we had a very nice time. Hemmingways and Little Sicily in Los Alcazares a must.

Large comfortable villa, large garden with pool in the countryside. Very enjoyable for us two cycling pensioners.
We really enjoyed our two month stay in Barbara’s villa. Louise the manager and Mike were at the end of our mobile phone if we needed help or information, Mike also services the pool. Louise fixed the tv so we could have English network, though with perfect weather we didn’t use it very much.
The kitchen was fully equipped with a dishwasher.Plenty of hot water for baths, showers etc. The evenings were becoming chilly later in November, so Mike called in to show us how to use the wooden pelleted fire, quite simple., lovely and warm lounge and our bedroom.
We have our own bikes to cycle on the good cycle paths, and roads, but for beaches, shopping, restaurants in Los Alcazares, Torre Pacheco and further you will need a car. We did our main weekly shop in the large supermarket Carrefours in the Meditteraneo shopping centre with its numerous shops just this side of Cartegena. La Zenia is another popular shopping centre in the opposite direction.
The beaches here are very popular with long promenades to walk and cycle on too. You do need a car though to get to these beaches.
We so enjoyed our time in Barbara’s villa and hope to book again soon.

Excellent Location to Chill Out
This property is located on a small residential Estate about 10 Minutes Drive from the nearby town and beach. The property consists of 3 Bedrooms with the Master Double having Air-Con and an En-Suite. There is also another Double and Twin room with a ceiling fan but no Aircon. The large Living Room has plenty of seating, a TV and DVD as well as a well-stocked bookcase and games. The Kitchen has two big Fridge Freezers, Oven, Hob, and Dishwasher along with plenty of plates and cutlery etc. There is also a Family Bathroom with Shower.
Outside there is a 7 x 4M pool (approx 1.8M depth throughout), BBQ, Outside Toilet with washing machine, plenty of Sunbeds and Umbrellas, plus tables and chairs to eat at. The gardens are on split levels with lemon, Lime, Fig, Olive and Pear Trees. The driveway is secured by a Lockable Gate. Louise and Michael are the local caretakers and always respond promptly if there is a problem of any type as well as providing good local knowledge.
A car is an absolute must as there is nothing within walking distance and even then there are no footpaths. We had a wonderful time and went home brown and chilled out.
The only negative is that being out in the country and adjacent to farm land and an irrigation canal there is an awful lot of flies which start early morning and go on until Sun Down, when sun bathing a good Mosquito repellent seem to do the job and candles can be bought at the Chinese store in town to keep insects at bay whilst dining out in the evening.

Private, Peaceful + Spacious - An excellent choice for a superb holiday
This was my third time staying here (2012, 2014 previously). First time as a couple and since then with all the family (2 teenage kids\ 1 young adult). I will definitely return again. The location is great if you want to combine pool\beach days with sightseeing as you are only 5 minutes drive away from the motorway and 10 mins to the start of Los Alcazares beach. Its a very straight forward drive from San Javier airport (3 exits). Each time I have stayed, there have been improvements made, the latest of which is a new patio area in amongst the fruit trees which we really enjoyed. One of the things I absolutely love about this place is the size of the grounds - there are a number of choices of sun-lounging areas so a large group or teen\parents will not feel on top of each other. The villa boundary is a high mostly creeper clad fence with a gate that is lockable from the inside which gives a great sense of privacy. The plants and trees give a really tropical feel to the place. Louise and Mike who manage the property are very helpful and a great source of local information. We had one issue connecting to the wifi but it was dealt with swiftly by Louise\Mike. Overall, I still feel lucky to have 'discovered' this place back in 2012 after much searching.

Simon and his family are always so enjoyable to host. They all enjoy our home so much and we are so happy they like what we do each year to make everyone's stay better and better. We look forward to their stay with us again and thank you for letting everyone know what you thought of your stay with us this time. It is so nice to have repeat guests as they become part of our family.

Not recommended!!!!
This villa was sold as a "luxury villa" and other reviews have mentioned how clean and peaceful it was. However, I found the villa to be far from luxurious, it was just average. On the surface it looked clean but we found some of the kitchen utensils to be dirty when we went to use them and the bedrooms were thick with dust. We were actually charged €130 for cleaning and washing on top of the cost of the villa but during our two week stay we had no linen or towel change and the villa was not that clean so I'm wondering what the hell we were charged this fee for!! I was in the third (twin) bedroom and found the bed very uncomfortable so I wasn't sleeping well. Only the master had air con, the other two bedrooms had ceiling fans.
Nowhere in the description of the villa did it mention that we were neighbouring agricultural land and consequently the road that ran alongside the villa had a steady stream of farm vehicles and large lorries which were very noisy, also being so close to farmland there was often the smell of manure, not pleasant whilst sunbathing I can
assure you.
As far as safety issues, there was an electrical socket hanging out of the wall in the living room, very dangerous especially if there are children in the villa. Also outside at the pool there was dangerous potential as to get in and out there was a metal 3 step ladder but when it's in direct contact with 35℃+ heat it was dangerously hot. The pool itself was around 5 to 6 feet deep all over so no shallow end for children.
The villa was also excessive in their security, having to unlock a gate into the drive, then another gate at the front door, then unlock the front door before deactivating the alarm and then to get out to the pool you had to unlock another gate, not to mention the bars at the Windows. It felt like being in prison rather than a holiday villa.
There were no amenities nearby, the nearest was one restaurant about 2km away and any other bars, shops and the beach were at least double that again so a car is essential. A very disappointing holiday experience.

There are three reviews from the same group. Unfortunately they had to be charged for damage and this is there way to get back at us. We certainly would not rent to them again and would suggest other owner's watch out for them. You will see from the many other reviews our home is great and our prices are good as well. I think in this case it is a case of the renters not happy to pay for damage they caused.

Not my idea of luxury
We have recently returned from a two week stay in this villa , and all I can say is that it was at best , average . There were lose electric sockets in the living room , botched plumbing In the second bathroom and a security regime more akin to Alcatraz than Los Alcazares.
The pool , albeit small was pleasant enough although did have a tendency to go rather green .
The proximity of the villa to a working farm was not mentioned in the description , nor the fact that tractors and articulated lorries trundled up and down the lane right alongside the villa .
Add the aroma of manure to the cacophony of noise , and you are about as far away from tranquil as you can get .
The write up on the property said that a car was advisable , but I'd say it was more like essential. They claimed that the nearest amenities were 1km away , but the nearest restaurant was almost 2.5km away and the nearest shops double that distance !
Overall I was rather disappointed with the property and would definitely not recommend a stay here .

DO NOT STAY HERE!
It was described as a luxury villa. What a joke. There was an electrical socket hanging out the wall in the living room, the 2nd bathroom shower head is propped up with a sponge. Not my idea of luxury. We had to pay 100 Euro for cleaning, but it wasn't that clean when we arrived, there was thick dust under the beds and black bits all over the floor of the 2nd bedroom. We also had to pay a further 30 euro for washing, I guess this was sheets/towels but think this should some under the cleaning. Although I have rented private villas before and never been charged separately for this.
Coming and going from the villa is like locking up fort knox. The alarm, although not activated when we were inside the villa went off twice for no reason.
Advertised as amenities within 1Km. WHAT AMENITIES? We luckily had a car as the villa is in the middle of nowhere and we clocked the nearest restaurant was 2.3Km from the villa. A few times were were unable to use the pool or sit outside because of the smell of manure from the farms. It was far from quiet, what we cars racing up and down and articulated lorries coming and going to the farms, air planes directly overhead to Murcia airport and fighter jets.
The single small umbrella provided for shade was not in it's proper stand and one day it blew out of the stand and hit my sister on the head when she was in the pool. As this was clearly not safe to use we moved an umbrella from another sunbathing area, however several days after we moved it the internal pully to open it snapped while the umbrella was up. The owners have deducted the cost of a new umbrella from our security deposit as they are blaming us for moving it without permission, even though we were not told we couldn't move anything. The umbrella was far from new and could have snapped at any time.
We read other reviews where people complained about having money deducted from their security deposit so this seems to be another way for the owners to make more money. Do yourself a favour and find a better place to stay.

Excellent Stay
We have been to this house at least 3 times and the improvements made since our last visit made a pleasant difference.
The house was spotlessly clean, well equipped and provided all we wanted. Internet worked flawlessly as did the power.
We like the area so we were quite at home.
The lady who met us at the house was pleasant and, although we did not take her up on the offer, said we could phone her if we needed anything.
No flies this year, possibly due to a change in local agricultural practice.
If you want to know how much I recommend this house, I've just booked for next year.

We are so pleased you found everything to your liking. As always we want to hear all comments. Glad the new electrical is functioning well and the wi if and the addition of the screens on the windows to keep flies out. We look forward to seeing you again next year or possibly a quick get away yet this year.

Los Alcazares is situated in the Murcia region of South-Eastern Spain, also knows as the Costa Calida. The town sits on the western shore of the Mar Menor, a saltwater lagoon separated from the Mediterranean Sea by a 22km long strip of land called La Manga. At Los Alcazares you will find a host of shops, bars and restaurants. The beautiful blue flag beaches at Los Narejos are only 500 meters away and there are lots of other beaches of the Mar Menor locally to visit. The property is within 5-10 minutes driving distance of an 18 hole golf course at Roda. There are currently 9 golf courses within a 20 minute drive including Villa Martin, Las Ramblas, Campoamor, La Finca and the championship courses at La Manga. The town of Los Alcazares was afforded municipal autonomy on the 13th of October 1983 and in celebration of this the town puts on a week long outdoor party featuring live music, shows and spectacular fireworks displays. The last 3 days of March sees Los Alcazares take on a medieval flavour with a large medieval market and numerous events in recollection of the time of peach following the creation of effective defences against invasions of Barbary pirates during the 15th century. Throughout the last 2 weeks of August the European countries gather to display their folklore, handicrafts and prepare gastronomic feasts from local produce.
