Tpot Retreat and Guest House is a unique get away in the beautiful rural area of the Rosie O'chills, it is a perfect getaway for families and couples. The house has a fireplace and working fire in each bedroom for that little bit of old school romance and cosines. It has a Victorian 6ft bath tub which is essential for the perfect night of relaxation. The house was originally built somewhere in the 1700's but was repurposed as a school in the 1800's up to the 70's. In the 90's it started operating as a recording studio, hosting names such as Sam Brown, Dodgy, Manic Street Preachers and The View along with many other local bands. There is a rich and interesting history to the house. It has a few little secrets that you can discover when you're here. There is a ruin site a 2 mile walk away from the house as well as a waterfall and heather fields. The local village dunning has St Serf's cross in it's church, accross the other side of the hills is the island in Loch Leven where Mary Queen of Scots was held. For sports and leisure, Gleneagles is only a 25 minute drive away with local fishing and shooting grounds within the area. More

Interaction with guests
My partner and I live on the other side of the house in the studio area, we'll be there to show you the ropes, get the fire started and answer any questions you have and we're right next door if you need anything. We can recommend some local spots and give you some tips while you're here. We both work part time to keep things ticking over so we'll usually be about in the evening, just pop by if you need us.

The Old Schoolhouse was such an amazing place to visit. Truly Scottish in its position, with great walks along the burn and to the waterfall. Lovely pub in the local village of Dunning. Vicki and Beth really looked after us and the house was beautifully...More

About the neighborhood
The area is very rural, it is right above the Water's of May, a burn that runs right through the Rosie Ochils, there are some amazing walks all around but we have the map to get to the secret waterfall which you can have when you get here! There is also some amazing history about, a ruin site about 2 miles away, and in Dunning, the local village, is St Serf's Church, home to the Duplin Cross, dated 9th century. Around the area is also Gleneagles and on the other side of the hills is Milnathort, Kinross and Loch Leven, where Mary Queen of Scots was kept!
Getting around
You'll definitely need a car up here, busses don't come up here and it can be very expensive getting a cab. However we do have Edinburgh Airport just 45 minutes away, Perth train station and bus station 40 minutes away and Gleneagles train station just 25 minutes away.
