Whether you are looking for a secluded, romantic getaway or an active walking holiday, Cefn Y Waun offers everything you need. With spectacular views from every window, the cottage offers the comfort and convenience of a fully equipped kitchen, a comfortable dining room and Sky TV whilst retaining its original charm with flagstone floors, a log burning stove and exposed beams. The accommodation sleeps four adults and well behaved dogs are very welcome. Cefn Y Waun really is far from the madding crowd! 'Cefn Y Waun' translates to the Back of the Heath – describing exactly its rural location on the ridge of the Hay Forest. Peace and quiet is guaranteed as the cottage is located in our privately owned 200 acre woodland, through which guests have the freedom to wander. The Black Mountains are at your doorstep, offering fantastic walking country with breath-taking views across the Brecon Beacons, Radnorshire hills and across to the English borders. Explore the local town of Hay on Wye, famous for its individual boutiques and countless bookshops. Choose from a great range of pubs or restaurants to dine before making your way back to Cefn Y Waun to relax in the deep bathtub or in the cosy lounge in front of the wood burning stove, maybe with a glass of wine. An optional extra is our log fired cedar hot tub. Situated at the front of the cottage with the breathtaking views of the black mountains in front of you there is no better way to relax. The Hot tub is available for hire throughout the year for just £49.95 per visit. Your hot tub will be prepared and waiting for you upon arrival. There are no nasty chemicals in our tub just clean fresh water which is naturally changed for each guest. The booking fee of £49.95 includes three crates of wood and a crate of kindling. This will be enough wood to get the hot tub up to temperature and then provide a further use the next day. Additional crates of wood are available at the cottage for an additional £10 a crate. How much wood you will use depends on the amount of time you use the tub and the gap between each session. The tub has an insulated cover to help keep the temperature in when not in use. More

Perfect quiet location that has stunning views. Lovely walks, a village pub a short drive away, just idyllic. Fresh flowers and provisions were a welcoming surprise on arrival too. Everything here you would need, home from home.

Lovely accomodation in a very special place. The best part about our little stay was seeing our dog so happy, exploring the massive private woodland. 100% recommended, cosy, comfortable (lovely bed!) and very peaceful.
