The apartment occupies the upper two floors of a three-storey B-listed building. The rooms have been decorated in keeping with the style of the building, retaining period features, such as the window shutters.

What a pleasure to stay in such a beautifully and tastefully equipped apartment. On entering, we were struck by the charm of the building and the fascinating history surrounding it. This is an excellent place to stay for local sea-side walks, access to the Fife coastal villages and towns, inland places of historic interest and Kirkcaldy has an efficient train...

The accommodation was first class and it was nice to be greeted by flowers, wine, bread and milk. Dysart is a very quiet historic village on the Fife Coastal Path. We had 3 lovely days walking the path and found it easy to use the buses to access the path. We also had a day in Edinburgh using the bus...

About the neighborhood
The old suburb of Dysart lies on the eastern edge of Kirkcaldy, Fife's largest town. Tall ships once arrived at Dysart, bringing cargo from the Netherlands, setting off again with coal, beer, salt and fish. Well restored, and retaining historic street names such as Hot Pot Wynd (after the hot pans used for salt evaporation), it's an atmospheric place of narrow alleyways and picturesque old buildings.

Key scenes in Series 2 of 'Outlander' were filmed at Dysart Harbour. Wander around the harbour, have a coffee and cake in the Harbourmaster's House and see why this pretty seaside spot was picked as the setting for the Jacobite drama that has enthralled millions.

Golfers will also find plenty to keep them busy! Fife boasts over 45 famous, histor...
