Please note due to very steep stairs this property may not be suitable for young children or the infirm and that the second double bed is a sofabed in the lounge. It may therefore be a bit of a squeeze for 4 adults because guests need to walk through the lounge to access the bathroom.
'We know that cleanliness is more important to guests than ever. We have always had high standards in this regard, but have put extra measures in place with an enhanced cleaning regime between stays and we leave the property empty for at least 28 hours between guests. There is hand sanitiser at the property and anti-bacterial spray and cleaning products for guest use.
We ask that no guests check-in to the property with COVID-19 symptoms or a raised temperature, and also let us know if you experience symptoms of COVID-19 during your stay or within 2 days of leaving the cottage.'
A wonderful cottage in a great location. Can't fault it!
Everything we needed in a charming cottage in a really lovely location. Beautiful woods and river walk just up the road and a nice pub too.

Very nice place and good location
The accommodation is small but very cute, we stayed over Christmas time and the owner has put lights up making it feel very christmasy. Also they had left a bottle of mulled wine and chocolates to welcome us which was a nice touch.
Highly recommend

Lovely cottage
The cottage was as described, and booking information pre warned us about steep stairs and the small parking area too so no nasty surprises! Shrubs in the garden could do with a trim back to make access a bit easier. Would have been nice to have the lovely kitchen clock working, and maybe some oil in the reed diffusers? Small things can make a big difference
Good base for getting out and about and we did not need to use the car every day as there are local walks. Owner was very helpful beforehand, responding to all my questions. Nice pub with friendly staff just across the road...good food too!
Lovely to have table and chairs to sit out and relax too

Wonderful time
I booked the cottage with my friend, who has booked this cottage a couple of times before, so booking was on her recommendation. It didn’t disappoint, we brought our bikes with us and using the cottage as a base, spent the two days cycling around the area, which was absolutely fabulous.
The cottage itself, was clean and well maintained, quite a quirky little place, but plenty big enough for our needs
We had an amazing time and are going to book for another couple of days in August if it is available.

Delightful, cosy, tranquil well located and fitted out cottage
Number three Red Lion cottages, Martlesham is well placed just outside Woodbridge and we had an excellent meal at the Red Lion! Lots to do in Woodbridge and the surrounding countryside. The cottage is really delightful and well fitted out for our stay. Truly a home from home. But beware, if not too good on the old pins, the stairs are really steep and not too many handrails on the way up! Beds comfy – even the sofa bed, but wood surround of the upstairs one did give my son lots of bruises on his legs as it was further out than the mattress!
The parking too was quite awkward and tight. We just managed with our little Jazz but would not have wanted to do it with anything any larger. Turning space is limited/difficult and the terrain rough to get onto the actual parking bay. Notice outside implied that an extension to the building is planned into the lovely courtyard garden. Personally I hope that I have misinterpreted this as I feel that the cottage and garden are lovely just as they are and if we have the need to stay in the area again I would not hesitate to try and book this cottage again.
