If you need to switch off and unwind, this is the place to stay! A deceptively large Shepherds hut set in it’s own private garden. The hut has been tastefully designed with great attention to detail and yet a nod to modern practicalities. Catriona and Alec, who own the farm, are excellent hosts and a special mention must go to their gorgeous sheepdog Evie!

A weekend break spent at "Abberton shepherd's hut retreat" , proved to be everything the website claimed to be and more. I was in love with everything from the farm location in Pershore, the natural environment, to the simplicity and well thought out design of the hut. The aesthetics were Countryside elegance and simplicity.
I doubt that there was anything that the host had not considered, from practicality to ensuring total relaxation for their guests. The selection of books and magazines was excellent. I never ened up reading the book I took with me. It proved a wonderful place to sit, relax, read and enjoy nature, unfortunately the weather proved too hot to explore the farm walks. I was absolutely delighted to hear a tawny owl, pressumably in the fruit orchard in front of the hut and to see a weasel and a Little owl while sitting outside during the evening.
The optional breakfast package was a real treat. From the selection of cerals to the homemade apple juice, free range eggs , bottle of milk, fresh artisan bread and award winning breakfast sausages. The host even provided teas, coffee and condiments. Probably the best breakfast ever eaten. In hind sight the quality was so good we wish we had bought a meat hamper for the BBQ and a pizza kit.
I highly recommend this special place for anyone considering staying in a shepherd's hut. This is an ideal retreat for both couples and families. And what an ideal gift for family. I will definately be booking this special place again.

Cute little break!
Just returned from a relaxing weekend at Abberton shepherds hut! We loved the authentic farm experience and the homely feel. Nothing was too much trouble and everything you could possibly need is there. The personal touches made it extra special.
We slept like logs, the bed is amazing and you can hear a pin drop! So peaceful :)
The log burning stove was a god send and the breakfast hamper is a must.
Evie the sheepdog made our time even better, she’s a little gem.
Thanks so much Catriona for such a lovely time, we will be returning in the summer!

Relaxing break
We had a wonderful time. Hut has everything you could need. It’s like a tardis as it seems bigger inside. We had the local produce breakfast left in the fridge which was lovely. There is even a hairdryer! Loads of electric points, heaters, coffee makers everything you need for a relaxing break. It has its own garden with a covered gazebo and fire pit at the end of the garden. We also had fun with the resident sheep dog. Loved it and have recommended it to friends.

Absolutely perfect stay
From the moment we arrived we were blown away. The field that in which the hut presides is enlcosed meaning it is safe for children and pets. The views are stunning, the farm itself is beautiful. Lovely walks in the local area. We walked through waist high grass, down to the brook and enjoyed great local food. The hut is just perfect. Every inch of it has been carefully filled with useful and decorative items. It is so well thought out. The beds are just brilliant, falling asleep as a family with those bunk beds is a joy. The hut is super practical, everything just fits. Our whole experience was fantastic, I even had the opportunity to help out on the farm and get 'hands on' with some of the cattle. Just brilliant.

Workation
Spent a perfect 2 days at the hut 'Working from home' on my laptop to have a change of scenery, and i didn't have a single issue despite the terrible weather.
Being able to have the option of working from the hut with no connection issues and i could go about my working day in the peace & quiet of the countryside....Bliss!!!
Definitely recommend this to anyone getting down under the pressure of work and if all you need is a stable internet connection, then i can vouch this will help take the stress out of that for sure

Excellent in every way , a real home away from home
After missing two planned returned breaks at this wonderful shepherds hut last year due to Lockdowns, we finally made it back to our most favourite and treasured shepherds hut. Catriona is a star who has made this wonderful hut into the real home from home it is. Nothing is too much bother for her and she makes you feel so welcome and like old friends. Everything about the hut and it’s location was as perfect as ever, even the torrential and sudden rain storms didn’t bother us. We were able to eat outside in the glorious sunshine at breakfast and were warm, dry and snug when the storms forced us to take shelter inside the hut. Then grandchildren loved it for the space and freedom to explore whilst we knew they were safe. We will definitely be back to enjoy again the peace and ambience of this magical place. Thank you Catriona and Alec for everything.

Second Stay in a Perfect Shepherd Hut
We had another perfect stay at the Abberton Shepherd Hut. It was our second visit after I proposed to my girlfriend in the hut last year (she said yes). The location is superb and the host Catriona goes out of her way to make sure you have everything you need throughout your visit. The hut has everything you could possibly need and is made super cozy thanks to the little log burner inside. We will be back for another visit next year!
