Really nice villa, clean, well-equipped, great views, nice sized swimming pool for kids to splash about in. Views come with a drawback though, which is that the villa is set well back from the town, about 4km up the hill. Little is actually within walking distance except a few local facilities, a few small basic stores (with little in them) and a pizza place, and ideally you need a car. We managed using the local bus service which is good but infrequent so you have to plan ahead. Bus stop just 50m up the hill from villa go down to ribiera brava several times a day for 1.30 euros each. Bus timetable is on internet (Rodoeste buses, boa morte to ribeira brava). Taxis are also an option, and certainly cheaper than hiring a 7 seater car! Great island, ribeira brava is a nice quiet town with a good promenade and decent little cafes. Must point out that there lots of dogs in the area, including several very vocal ones in the neighbouring villas, but one quickly gets used to it. Pool isn't particularly private in that it is overlooked by neighbouring villas if that is an issue, but the views whilst in the pool really are wonderful. TV and DVD collection came in handy for kids in between pool sessions. No AC so upstairs got pretty hot by evenings even with window shutters in use during day. Should have more fans in house. Overall would recommend.
