Very close to town and the train station. We spend 2 weeks here every time we visit France. Biking is great ( but uphill on the way home) SAturday market is fun. Excellent restaurants and wonderfully friendly people. Few tourists. The cottage is charming with...More

About the neighborhood
There are at least seven boulangeries and pastry shops, fifteen or more restaurants and eight bars to serve you. Three butchers, deli’s and other specialty cheese, chocolate and wine shops along with a weekly year-round outdoor market. This is a designated “book town” and there is a book fair every third week-end from April- Oct. It is also an Art and Music town and it plays host to many different events throughout the year, Piano, Jazz and Blues to name a few. Many of the concerts are free and open-air, others are performed in the Cathedral or other venues in town. Anytime you venture out in this village, a feast of culinary and visual arts await. Getting around
Although a car is not needed, if you wish to explore the wineries and the outlying villages, a car is recommended. ( you can rent one in Nevers or on your way from Paris)
The local train station is just a short 5 min. walk away from the house and you can explore and shop at many other towns including Nevers,(20 min.) Cosne-sur-Loire(15 min.) or Paris ( 2 hrs) Sancerre (30 min) and Bourges (45 min.) are accessible by bus.
A car is not needed in town as everything is close by.

We are located 2 hrs south of Paris off the A7 auto route. There is also a direct train from Paris six times daily.
