in the main section of the house, Dolgadfa has a comfortable dining room with open fire and a sitting room with wood burning stove. You will also find a well-equipped kitchen with Aga, electric cooker, Belling plate warmer and separate Breakfast Room, you will also have access to a utility room with downstairs WC. There is a double bedroom with 5ft bed and en-suite bathroom with shower attachment and WC and also two twin bedrooms, one with wash basin and a separate shower room with WC.

There aren't that many places that can sleep 12 in comfort and take dogs too. We brought the extended family together for a birthday celebration, and Dolgadfa was perfect. The always-warm farmhouse kitchen is a cosy focal point but there's loads of rooms to escape to for games,reading, TV or whatever. Facilities are fine, and everyone can dine together in the large dining room with the added attraction of a woodburning stove very welcome in autumn. With the river just a few yards away it was good to see that fences and gates stopped adventurous kids getting too close.

Excellent facilities with high standard of cleanliness. Spacious yet fully private property. One of the best holiday homes I have visited.

Super hosts, very experienced, highly rated B&B
This was our second visit to Dolgadfa and the wonderful hospitality of John & Lou Robertson. It is the perfect property for a get away and we wouldn't stay anywhere else. Beautiful and spotlessly clean and equipped with everything you need for a stay away from home. The location is jaw-dropping and it is an ideal base to explore the local area before coming back to a well equipped warm kitchen and cosy sitting room fires. Thank you.....loved it and we will be back!

A beautiful place to stay. Highly recommended.
It really is a beautiful, secluded property with the most stunning views.
I organise an annual get together for several very old friends with a bit of fly-fishing, walking.. and a lot of eating, drinking and talking! We've stayed in many locations around the UK over the years and this is one of the best. The house and annex are roomy, comfortable and well equipped for even very large parties and Lou the host is extremely friendly and helpful.

Lovely New Year Break
We were a group of 6 adults and 6 children. We had a lovely time and everything we needed was available. The cottages were lovely. The only thing that would make them better is if they were connected in some way to save having to go outside due to three bedrooms being in one cottage and three in the other as it meant one of the families had to spilt up. It wasn’t a major problem for our group. We dined in one cottage and relaxed in the other, which again wasn’t a problem for our group. There was plenty of parking and the outdoor space and views were amazing. We had a fantastic time and we hope to be back in the future. Lou made everything as easy as she could for our stay and although we didn’t meet her she was easily contactable if needed. Thanks again for a lovely break.

A wonderful space for a family reunion!
We needed a relaxed spacious place to gather the family together for our son's wedding in Bala, and Dolgadfa was just perfect! Great access to the river for a swim, there was an old railway track for an early morning run, fields for walking, grounds for exploring, relaxing and barbecuing! It was wonderful to have plenty of rooms and bathrooms too for us all! The wedding was just a short drive away in Bala near the lake - it was stunning as we were blessed with such fabulous weather! We'd love to return to just chill out together as it was a very busy weekend of preparation and celebrations. The property is isolated along narrow lanes which we felt added to its character and appeal. We'd highly recommend a stay at Dolgadfa...and look forward to returning!

Amazing house, great location, stunning views
We had the most amazing weekend great house for a family gathering
Owners really friendly and helpful
House had all the facilities needed for a big gathering
So much to do in the area but we didn’t want to explore as the house had so much to offer we just choose to relax and unwind.

Beautiful stay
Came for my sister’s hen do (18 girls hiking up Snowdon!) and this place was brilliant. Stunning scenery, great outdoor space and Lou was really helpful.

There are many reasons to come and stay here at Bala Cottage Holidays, with Snowdon only a 45 minute drive away, the national park awaits. We have some great mountains on the doorstep too for walking, the Berwyns, Aran and Arenig with side of Bala Lake, again wonderful walks where you will rarely meet anyone! There are also walks for the not so fit, Bala Lake itself has some nice walks near by and and the River Dee (Bala lake being the source). We do provide OS maps at the cottages for the local area, we are happy for you to borrow them, also John and myself have climbed many mountains in the area.
North Wales beaches, well where can we start, we are blessed with some of the best beaches, many with dramatic backdrops of the mountains of Snowdonia, you will always find a place and may not see anyone at all! Most are dog friendly, so a perfect place to go for a walk. Here at Bala Cottage Holidays we are a 45 minute drive to our nearest beach at Port Madog, where you will also have the added advantage of the steam railway line when you have had enough of the beach!
If you fancy a castle, then again North Wales has many! From Harlech to Conwy, there are so many to choose from.
For the more adventurous we have the largest National White Water Rafting centre here at Bala and the longest zip wire not far away at Bethesda, also the indoor trampling in Snowdonia too.

From the village of Llandderfel take the single track road out of the village past the old disused chapel, with the running down on your right, exactly one mile out of the village Dolgadfa is the first farmhouse on the right hand side, the back of the house is on the back of the lane, go past and you will see a white gate and drive into the property.
