I would like to start by thanking Katy for a fantastic week at Merrimoles, this place is amazing! The lodge is so well equipped, comfortable and clean. The site it is situated on is nice, modern, well maintained and in a great location. The lodge has stunning views and is not really overlooked by other lodges.
It was wonderful after a day’s exploring North Wales to be able to come back and jump in the hot tub for a relaxing hour or so with a glass of something cold! We were even blessed with some superb weather for the week, which made for even better memories of our time at Merrimoles.
If you book this place for a holiday, you can be sure of having a great time and will certainly not be disappointed.

Simply the best
I really really want to say so bad things about this place to make sure it always has availability for me, but there are no bad things I can think of at all, nothing. The place is amazing and if you are thinking of staying there, STOP thinking and just book it because you will not be disappointed. Your only disappointment will be when you leave.
So we arrived Family of 5 ( youngest 12) and a bf who stayed just for the weekend and our small dog. The lodge easily accommodated us. Let me start by saying the lodge has everything, you could literally make a cake, a full roast dinner and probably a whole host complicated dishes. There are basic items you might forget such as salt and sugar in the cupboards so you can have a cup of coffee on arrival.
The hot tub is checked daily by a lady who comes and dips it - which is a great piece of mind. I personally think this lodge has the best view in the whole park looking over the mountains with the stars flooding over. Tub is hard standing with steps leading up to it is always a perfect temperature. I had read a review about the lid but it was all fine during our stay.
Beds are comfortable, showers are fabulous. There are books and games available in the lodge and blankets to cosy up outside. Additionally after a wet day in the mountains there is also a washing machine!
The Host:
Katy P responded straight away to all my questions and was great at letting me know anything I asked.
The park:
It is very quiet and clean, lots of dogs walking with owners but no dog mess .It says it has a shop - it's not a shop , its basically bread, milk and sausages , its a buy breakfast items shop. You can buy the code for the internet here however on weekends it is only open 10-2 ( we were out both days do had no internet for the first few days) , the code lasts 7 days and covers 4 devices. The park from the village is a steep walk but a pleasant one. There is a nice play park for children in the centre area.
TIPs:
The switch for the fridge is on the side of it, dont turn it off looking for outside lights which we did! (DOH!!!)
Get a delivery of food shopping, the village has a Co-op and great fresh fruit and butchers but it is far easier to get a first night delivery as supermarkets are not close by.
Be in the hot tub at sunset - you can thank me later for this tip!
Down load StarWalk or another star map app this place is great for star spotting
Stuff to do near by: we did paddle boarding on lake Bala, went to Cocoa Bala in the village and visited beaches on the west coast. We found some experiences on Luxurygiftexperience.com to do as activities.

Lovely homely lodge
The lodge is a spacious lovely and homely holiday rental. The owners have paid special attention to the interior decor to ensure the lodge is welcoming and cosy. There’s everything you need for a relaxing enjoyable stay. Kitchen well stocked, beds super comfy, hot tub brilliant! Great position on the Park - private not overlooked. 30 minutes walk into Bala where there’s a few shops, a Co-Op and a few pubs.

Heatwave splendour
Idyllic lodge set in a fantastic location for a family holiday spent enjoying the attractions of North West Wales.
Long evening soaks in the hot-tub to unwind and massage away the aches of exploring, taking in the most fantastic of scenery.

Beautiful lodge - great views
Would highly recommend this accommodation if you’re planning a trip to Snowdonia or Bala
It’s a lovely lodge on a holiday park full of other equally nice lodges - Albeit I think this has the best situated hot tub with incredible views. We took our dogs which usually means we have to “downgrade” which can be frustrating when they are so well behaved - but in this instance we could bring our dogs and stay somewhere that was really luxurious.
Each room has been really nicely decorated and there’s both a bath and shower which is brilliant !
In terms of amenities everything is catered for from cups, cutlery and the like to cleaning products - which is really handy.....and the bottle of Prosecco left as welcome was a nice touch.
Would highly recommend the 40 minute drive to Barmouth beach, especially if you’re taking dogs with you !

Fantastic!
Just returned from Merrimoles with my family. The lodge is perfectly equipped, spacious, and sparkling clean. The hot tub is great with amazing views of the mountains. So many places to visit nearby, Barmouth Beach, Portmeirion. A truly wonderful holiday!

Girls away
Upon arrival we were pleased to see that we were one of the first lodges giving up a great view and we were not overlooked. The lodge itself was very nice and clean. We were close to zip world and bets y coyed. Would definitely recommend and be back. Thankyou Katy xx sorry I was abit like ooo who's this ringing 😂 I was drunk in the hot tub 🙈

Really lovely accommodation, beautiful location and amazing vista. All basic amenities provided, including dishwasher and clothes washing tablets. Bedding and towels provided and all clean. Locals all really friendly, Bala town very pretty. Very cute steam train ride up to a few lovely walks and nice little pub.
Loses a star for having to pay for internet, 10 pound when the accomodation cost should really have covered this. Also lost on the hot tub, lid was broken and therefore a lot of rain water got in, and the water got a bit smelly and green, however we did go during very bad weather so alot of rain water would have got in.

Beautiful setting
The lodge is spacious & clean. Hot tub was fabulous. Nice quiet location but easy access to be able to sight see. We visited swallow falls, snowdonia railway to go up to peak of Snowdon & various other places. Highly recommend.

Bala is an ideal base to explore the best that Snowdonia National Park has to offer. There are a number of outdoor recreational centres in the local vicinity offering a wide range of activities and water sports including, horse riding, sailing, windsurfing, canyoning, gorge walking and white water rafting. We provide an activity pack within the accommodation to help you explore the best the area has to offer.
Bala is a truly versatile location with spectacular walks and cycle routes from the doorstep, a 30 minute drive away from the beautiful sandy beaches of Barmouth, and less than an hours drive for shoppers paradise in Chester.
