I highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a large family/group of friends holiday. The owners were very helpful in communicating in the lead up to our visit. The house was well equipped including milk, tea, coffee, bread etc. And the rooms laid out perfectly. There was plenty of space and our family had a very enjoyable Christmas with a decorated tree in place. There was plenty of room for us all and the Reindeer Lodge was a lovely quirky addition.

Great
Lovely place, it has two living rooms and six bedrooms. Hot tub and Pool table too. Would greatly recommend one of the best with six large bedrooms for party stays.

Perfect for Family Get Togethers
This very large house is perfect for a family get together. The bedrooms were large and well furnished. The large kitchen table, pool and bar room were great for socializing and two lounges each with their own TVs made it easy to relax. The garden is large and on a hill. All in all, the pictures online don't do the house full justice.

Lovely house
House was lovely so spacious and big, clean and tidy, plenty of towels left for guests. Would defiently reccomend. Only downside was felt privacy was broken as cameras around and a ring door bell woth camera on front door. But other than that was a great weekend. Would most definitely book again.

Perfect for family get togethers
Just back from a 4 night stay at Midsomer House. Overall we all enjoyed, the pool table and hot tub kept us entertained and we had a great night in the bbq hut. Garden was big enough for the dog and children too. Lots of extras which were nice such as milk, bread and butter in the fridge, fresh towels and useful bits such as dishwasher tablets etc. Good location with plenty of places to visit, and the high street itself is a few minutes walk with everything you’d need except a nice restaurant. We visited an Italian in Radstock which was fantastic though and just a 5 minute drive away.
There were a few issues with the house and it is a bit tired, could do with a few cobwebs being removed but then again it’s an old house full of character.
There is a bad smell in the games room if the air con is on, and the air con is leaking right above a tv; also the one shower leaked into the kitchen so we all ended up using the same bathroom - these were the biggest issues for us really but they didn’t impact our stay a great deal.
I would say 16 people in this house would be too much. We had 8 adults and 1 child which felt enough (for example only 6 patio chairs and 10 dining table chairs). There are 2 bathrooms, one shower room and one downstairs toilet, so to say there are 4 bathrooms is a bit misleading I think.

Overpriced
Well were do you start , it's like two separate houses the upstairs is great lovely and clean bedrooms , comfy beds and clean towels and bedding , but that's were it ends, the kitchen has problems , leaking radiator, blinking cap missing of the sink waste pipe so water leaking on to the floor when you use the sink , ceiling lights loose and held up with celotape, bubbles on the kitchen table , broken floor tiles and the hot plate on the cooker doesn't work , broken tiles in the games room and cobwebs in he corners , two living rooms need redecorating as stained wall paper , the jacuzzi had a ueed plaster floating around in it when we arrived and is overlooked by a camera , also a camera overlooking the top decking and garden area makes you feel uncomfortable as though your being watched ,children's play area half taken down with the other half lying on the floor , and the indoor barbecue you couldn't sit in there because the c02 alarm was going off , so we had to take the food back to the kitchen , overall disappointing and overpriced.

Birthday fun bank holiday weekend
What a beautiful property with plenty of room for all. Our young children could play in a safe environment and plenty to keep all entertained. Pool table and jacuzzi were a treat in a communal area where everybody could relax. There was an undesirable odour when the air conditioning was put on. Communication was excellent with the owners who responded immediately to any questions and slight problem, e.g. trip switch tripping. The wooden bbq hut in the garden was AMAZING! A great holiday home Conveniently located to shops and other activities such as Longleat safari park, which was about 30 minutes drive away. We will be sure to revisit.

Could be a wonderful holiday house but........
We stayed as an extended family bubble, ages 4 to 90, for 4 nights recently. When we arrived cleaning was still going on so we waited to fully 'inhabit' the house. However, we soon realised that cleaning was going to be an issue. The house is far too large for one person to clean adequately (especially in these virus aware times) and as a result I had to spend two hours with anti-covid spray dusting and cleaning surfaces before we felt secure. I emailed the owner and was told cleaners could come in the next day however, I felt that we could not stay until it was clean. I booked the house with the belief that there was a childrens play area but that had been demolished. There was a balcony railing held up by cable ties and some electric items did not work. I was in contact with the owner fairly constantly and a broken fitting was mended and floors cleaned the day after our arrival but cleanliness was definitely a let down. Drawers had not been checked after previous holiday makers which confirmed a lack of cleaning. It is such a shame as this house has such potential but needs more attention to detail. The bedding and towels were very clean and fresh and the hot tub was clean when we arrived. I feel I cannot recommend at the moment.
