Cosy, rural cottage
This was a gorgeous warm and cosy cottage tucked away in a peaceful, rural village. The owners, Irene and Norman were very welcoming and helpful. We had snow whilst there and Norman made sure we had plenty of logs to keep the log burner alight. The cottage was well equipped with all the essential cooking materials/equipment. Plenty of information on the local area. Good location for visiting the coast and other tourist attractions plus lots of nice local walks. Very enjoyable stay and will return.

Lovely Cottage. Great Stay.Excellent Hosts.
We stayed in Primrose Cottage for a week (24.6.23 - 1.7.23). This is a beautiful cottage, very well equipped and set in a lovely tranquil village but not too far from the town of Hesdin for your everyday needs. The cottage really was immaculate. Norman and Irene are the perfect hosts, always there if you need something, but not intrusive. Norman really is a mine of information which really helped us when planning trips on our motorcycle (the roads in this area of France are ideally suited for motorcycles and the road surfaces are excellent). The Cottage is ideally located for the Commonwealth War Graves and everything to do with the Somme. We highly recommend this Cottage and we will definitely return.

Great hosts, great cottage, great stay
We (2 adults, 1 child) family rented the cottage for 4 days over the February school holidays in France. It is everything it is advertised to be - cozy, comfortable, cute. The owners (Irene and Norman) went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and at home. The cottage has all of the amenities mentioned in the ad, the region is adorable and we'll definitely come back. Thanks for the great stay. Nelly.

Tortefontaine
Due to unforeseen confusion over our pet’s passport at the french border, we had to extend our stay by spending a week in France. Browsing through the internet I came across a charming little cottage and booked our stay for the week. Our visit was quite eventful, to say the least, with not everything running smoothly but throughout all of our concerns our hosts Irene and Norman were on hand to help us and guide us. The cottage was perfect for us it just felt like home from home. The area of Tortefontaine is beautiful with very pretty homes and the most noticeable thing of all was how clean and beautifully kept all the surrounding villages were. Hesdin the closest town to us had everything we needed with regards to supermarkets, vets, chemist, launderette etc. The cottage was beautiful with every home comfort imaginable including WiFi and tv. I highly recommend a stay here if anyone is looking for a break in northern France. You won’t be disappointed.

Cottage Tortefontaine ((Hesdin)
A very nice place to enjoy your holiday. The cottage is well equipped and very comfortable. The owners showed us around in and around the gîte, to see al the cozy places. There was also a lot of information about things to do and to see in the area . We had a pleasant stay. Sjeng & Femmy van Hulst.

Excellent Week Away
Norman and Irene have created the perfect gite an hour from Calais. All amenities available and they both available to provide advice on the local area - everything from historical sites, where to find free COVID PCR test for return to UK or where to go cycling (a great range of hills and flats). A perfectly frictionless week away from it all.

Perfect spot for a relaxing stay
I would have to really try to find any fault at all with this glorious cottage we enjoyed for a little over a week. The accommodation itself was delightful, so pretty, had every amenity you need and felt like a real home from home. The kitchen was really well set out, an absolutely fantastic shower and the beds were SO comfy! It really is a Tardis of a space and the three of us had plenty of room. The outside seating area was really lovely and the seats comfy, a great place to spend a few hours in the early spring sunshine. The real star of the stay though are the owners. Both Irene and Norman were absolutely fantastic! So helpful, friendly and really went above and beyond what we ever could have wished for - they really made the stay comfortable for us and without their local knowledge and help we definitely would have found things a lot more difficult. I whole heartedly recommend a stay here, a fantastic cottage in a beautiful location with wonderful hosts - not sure what else you could ask for? We will definitely be returning!

Exceeded all expectations
having just returned from primrose cottage, which was our second visit, i can honestly say it exceeded all our expectations. The cottage has everything you need, it is spotlessly clean and the silence of an evening is deafening. Having stayed in properties all over France this one has never been beaten, and to cap it all what charming lovely hosts Irene & Norman are. We returned with our three year old grandson, who on the ferry returning home asked if he could go back, i think that sums it all up, oh and for my grandson a morning walk with "charlie" the dog really did make his holiday, see you soon Steve, Yvonne & Ralph.

Great relaxing place to stay
We had a great time here. The cottage has everything you could want and all of it very good quality. The owners were fantastic and very welcoming with lots of advice on things to do in the area. There are a lot of places to visit within about half an hour's drive. Our dog loved it here too with plenty of walks and visits to the beach. Overall highly recommended.

Still lovely
This was our second stay at primrose cottage and was just as good as the first. Newly decorated bedroom and lovely new power shower was great. We were fortunate to have a week of glorious sunshine so visited, again the lovely beaches of Dieppe, Le Treport, Le Crotoy and the picturesque St Valery Sur Somme. Otherwise spent the time relaxing in the pretty (fortunately shady) garden. Was lovely to see Irene and Norman again. They are very friendly and helpful with lots of knowledge of the area. Hopefully we will return again in the future.
