This very pleasant, breezy, self-catering duplex beach front apartment (1200 sq. ft./113 sq. m) faces the white, sandy Heywoods Beach on the exclusive West Coast of Barbados. The location is just north of Speightstown, in easy walking distance to the amenities (supermarkets, shops, bars, restaurants, banks). The breezy apartment is separated from the beach by a small road with local traffic only. The accommodation harmoniously blends contemporary with some antique mahogany furniture. This is an ideal place to unwind in Caribbean atmosphere, a romantic getaway for couples, but also very well suited for a family holiday. The apartment is fully self-contained. Gated parking included.

We have stayed with family in Speightown a number of times before but this trip there were a lot of us travelling so we needed additional accommodation. Coral Sands was great value and in a perfect location for accessing Heywoods beach and a short walk to the centre of Speightstown. I would definitely recommend Coral Sands to anyone wanting to...

Firstly, dealing with the owners of this property was great. They are very acccommodating and eager to see that their guests really enjoy themselves. Making the booking, emails and even picking up the keys were all quite effortless. About the neighborhood
The Coral Sands apartment is situated on the exclusive West Coast of Barbados, facing the white, sandy coral beach, where you can swim, snorkel or dive. The spectacular Heywoods Beach is to the north, within easy walking distance, stretching from the Almond resort to Port St. Charles. You can walk in a few minutes to historical Speightstown ('Little Bristol'), a city protected for its cultural and historical value. You find banks, shops, supermarkets, pharmacies, a wide range of restaurants and bars. During the day you observe the pulsating life of a small busy Caribbean town, not much touched by touristic development. Nearby Holetown, a 15 minute drive away, represents the main touristic spot on the west coast.
Getting around
With local buses you can reach most places on the island easily and cheaply. The Speightstown bus terminal is just 3 mins walking distance from the apt. A rental car is not absolutely necessary to explore the island, but more convenient of course. Our guests get a discount at Stoutes car rental - please ask us for details. The beautiful rugged East Coast (e.g. Bathsheba), famous among surfers, with its breathtaking views, is only half an hour drive away. White Sands is close to the golf courses of Royal Westmoreland (10 minutes by car), Sandy Lane (20 minutes) and others. Pulsating Holetown is only 15 min away, Bridgetown about 30 min, both can be reached by bus along the coast. When you book you will get detailed info on places to visit.

The apartment is on the west coast just north of Speightstown, in a few mins walking distance from the "centre" of this very small town. Next airport is Grantley Adams near Bridgetown (35 km away), next harbor is Bridgetown (22 km distance).

From the airport take either a taxi (presently 40 US $) to the apartment or go there with a rental car, following mainly Highway 2 A/ABC Highway. After booking, you will receive detailed instructions for the trip.
