Paradise
This is a very lovely place to stay in Deshais, Guadeloupe. The porch, with its sunset views, is worth every penny.
The three master bedrooms are spacious with high-end bed linens.
AC in each.
The kitchen is fully equipped along with enough dishes to serve 100! I kid you not.
Outside, near the car parking area is a huge covered area for lounging and entertainment. When I told the landladies how much I loved ouassous, the local, fresh water crayfish, they came with all the ingredients and gave us a cooking lesson. That meal and the camaraderie was one of the highlights of our stay.
House is a short drive to many beaches especially our favorite, Grand Anse. The house has beach towels, chairs and umbrellas to make your beach experience comfortable. Three minutes away is the fabulous Jardin Botanique...a wonderful garden of tropical flowers and birds with a restaurant atop the waterfall.
So run, don't walk to this tropical paradise.

Terrific Villa in Great Location
We stayed three relaxing weeks in the spacious top floor apartment of Villa Nicotoria. It was a perfect base for exploring the Basse Terre area. The house is perched on a hill with a view of the sea and the sunsets. The outdoor terraces are huge and very comfortably furnished. There are two bedrooms on the first level and one more on the top level. All have very comfortable beds with high end linens on them. The A/C in each works very well. The upstairs bedroom had its own bathroom and jacuzzi tub. Downstairs there is a w/c closet and a separate sink and shower room. There is a large indoor dining area, although it would take a hard rain to drive us inside when the terrace is so inviting.
The kitchen is exceedingly well equipped with assorted pots, pans, and cooking implements. The oven works very well, as does the clothes washer, the microwave,
Gas cooktop, refrigerator with built-in ice maker, etc. There are enough dishes and glasses to feed 100 people!
The house is very well-built and surrounded by a lovely tropical garden with a small pool that is very nice to come home to on a hot day. The beach of Grande Anse, one of the most beautiful in Guadeloupe, is a ten-minute drive away.And the picturesque town of Deshaies, with its many restaurants in all price ranges, is just five minutes away.
Sisters Nicole and Alberta are the very charming, very attentive owners of this villa and the four other, smaller units (equally lovely) beneath it.They made our visit even more enjoyable than it would have been anyway. I hope to see them again when I return next year!
