Villa Rosa is a great property. Modern and reasonably well maintained, with a pool, and views from the terrace to die for. We had an issue when we arrived - the property had not been cleaned! Unmade beds (with the used bed linen in place), old damp towels on the bathroom floors, etc. A quick call to the property managers and 5 hours later, all was fixed and ship-shape. Whilst this could have been a MAJOR inconvenience, we chose to more or less ignore it as "one of those things" - even though we couldn't use the property until 9 o' clock in the evening.
So back to the property. Like so many rentals in Italy it is not the easiest place to find or access. Very steep and narrow roads (and I grew up in the North Wales back country lanes!). There is parking just 50-100 metres or so from the gate avoiding the steepest part of the road. So, not for the faint hearted or bigger vehicles, but for us it was fine. 4 bedrooms on the ground floor with 2 bathrooms, and an open kitchen/dining room/lounge upstairs plus a 3rd bathroom. All well equipped. Modern appliances (including good wifi) which all worked, and nice furniture. The terrace has a large table with seating for 12, plus outside wicker sofas - and the most wonderful views down the valley out to Lake Como. We saw dear, and wild boar right outside the (well fenced) garden at night - fabulous. The nearest village and restaurants are in Argegno, a 10 minute quick drive down to the lake shore. There is a reasonable number of restaurants to choose from. Up the valley are other towns, and several restaurants so plenty of variety - but ALL require driving. Having stayed in rentals around Tuscany where many rental properties are in the middle of nowhere, this villa is not particularly out of the way. If you want to be able to walk to restaurants/bars - look elsewhere.
