House Rental
Originating in Norman Times "Harbour View" was once a Tower House where merchants watched for sailing boats arriving with their goods at Strangford quay. The property has a vaulted passage way leading from the shore to a long forgotten Inn on Castle Street.
The house received a makeover in Georgian Times and has recently been restored to provide a comfortable home with wonderful views over Strangford Lough. The property also overlooks a large walled garden which contains a raised patio area and a large lawn for games. The accommodation includes a spacious dinning area and kitchen with a log stove on the ground floor, a large sitting room, a bathroom and a single bedroom on the first floor and two bedrooms, and a bathroom on the second floor. We offer unlimited internet access. It is some...

A Gem of a Holiday Home
We loved both the house with its original features .. and the location by the quayside . Comfortable beds and a cosy snug Judy the owner was most helpful and accommodating. All in all , the perfect base for our trip to N. Ireland .

Exceeded expectations
Harbour view is a great rental property, very spacious and we thought the lay out was excellent. We were welcomed with a bottle of wine and some chocolates which was a nice touch.
Communication with Judy was always promptly replied to.
We are hoping to return again next year

A great holiday home in the centre of the village.
The house is extremely well placed to enjoy all aspects of the village. It was quite a surprise to have such a lovely big garden in a house that was so central. The children enjoyed it very much. The house is well furnished with lots of useful equipment. The owner was very accommodating and met any requests we had. It would be good if there were a few more bowls and mugs to get best use from the dishwasher.

Perfect location looking over Strangford Lough. A lovely house full of character with a walled garden. walled garden
Harbour View is a great place to stay. It is very convenient to restaurants, shops and the ferry to Portaferry, There is an aquarium at Portaferry which is worth visiting and is also near the National Trust House and grounds at Castleward.
Dave looked after the house and kindly lent us a bouncy castle to entertain our grandchildren!

Excellent location, great accommodation, super garden, safe for the kids and plenty to do.
There are beaches, parks and play areas close by. Shops, cafes/restaurants and pubs within a few minutes walk and superb views over The Narrows of Strangford Lough. The Exploris Aquarium is just across in Portaferry and reached in 15 minutes on the ferry. The kids thought the ferry was really exciting! Te National Trust park at Castleward is close by and Downpatrick is only 15 minutes drive. Lots to see and explore in the immediate area and Harbour View is a first class base.

Fits the bill
Visited for a wedding. Lovely location, super views, overlooks the ferry with all its activity. House clean, comfortable and well equipped, cooked in a couple of times with ease. Local hostelries handy and utilised. First visit to Northern Ireland, how beautiful.

Every thing I could wish for and more besides.
This time I arrived in plenty of time to be warmly welcomed to Harbour view by Judy and her husband and I was not at all surprised to discover that they are also very keen into preserving our built heritage and environment . As I was lucky to to have invited a friend from the Ards area to stay, I was introduced to some of the her local friends and was shown more places to explore. As before I had no interest in the TV as there was so much to see from the kitchen window and also from my bedroom on the top story.
Being a member of The Irish Georgian Society, This time I joined The National Trust at Castleward, so I now have free access to miles of walks there and to all of their historic properties, along with many here in the south that are free for I.G.S. members
I used the new Carlingford Ferry this time with all of it's wonderful views to add to those I had crossing Strangford lock. On my last morning while watching the ferry slip its mornings for it's first crossing at 730 am, I was delighted to see a sealine for the first time ever, popping its head out of the water only yards from the shore. I can't wait
till next year to visit this wonderful part of this island where I was made to feel at home and all I need to get there is my car.

Fantastic location, fantastic view, fantastic house.
The house in itself was worth the journey to Strangford. A stones throw from pubs , restarants and local shops the Harbour View was so charming that I feel tempted to return in the winter and just spend time looking out over the water and enjoying the house.
