Riviera Maya is a resort district following the coastal Highway 307. This highway parallels the Caribbean coastline of the Mexican state of Quintana Roo, located on the eastern portion of the Yucatán Peninsula. The Riviera Maya resort district includes the city of Playa del Carmen, the town of Puerto Morelos, the village of Tulum and the town of Felipe Carrillo Puerto situated 40 kilometres (25 mi) to the south of Tulum.
