Just back from our 10 day trip to Umbria and our lovely stay at L'Ariete. We would recommend this place for 200%... We had spent a lot of time reviewing tons of accommodations in the region of Umbria and we're glad to have chosen this one. L'Ariete is an authentic countryhouse on a large, beautiful and well maintained property with amazing views. We stayed in apartment Volpe on the ground flour. It has a good size and is beautifully decorated with attention to every detail. We loved the style. There is a large kitchen with all the equipment you need to cook, a living room (where you can find some good books, mainly in German), two bedrooms, two bathrooms (only used 1 bedroom and bathroom) and a private terrace. The king size bed is comfortable. Mattress is good: not too hard, not too soft. We slept very well. The apartment stays cool, even during the hot summer days when we were there. It is very clean! There is more than enough space to relax privately at the pool, which is large and clean. Great deck chairs (enough for every guest) with a lot of sun screens. Many hideaways in the garden where you can relax, eat, read,... The views are lovely from every point. We stayed for dinner at the restaurant of L'Ariete 3 times. Martina's food is delicious! As for the location: Montone is such a beautiful and idyllic little town! The atmosphere is amazing. It's a 5 min drive and 25 min by foot from the house. This is a perfect location to combine relaxing time at the pool with visits to the many towns in the region (we did Orvieto, Città di Castello, Gubio, Assisi, Spello and Arezzo). Last but not least: Martina and Andreas are really nice people :) they are relaxed, yet everything is well organized. They have created a great place to stay and we enjoyed their company. We also adored Laci, their dog. He is so sweet. But if you don't like dogs, no problem: he's calm and very well mannered and enjoys just lying around the whole time :) Hope to stay at L'Ariete again soon!
