Le Moulin is a former watermill which has the rustic charm of a building that has been over 300 years in the making. Renovated to a high standard, the mill offers all the amenities one would expect on a home away from home holiday in the beautiful French countryside. There is no passing traffic to speak of, just the wildlife and the stars via a crystal clear sky to keep you entertained.

All the rooms are on one level with a single step up into two of the three bath/shower rooms and a single step up into the spacious and fully equipped kitchen diner. The two main bedrooms have en-suite shower rooms and a further two bedrooms share a large family bathroom, with shower and bidet.

The sitting room comes with UK satellite TV and a bluray/DVD player.

Outside is a large terrace/patio for alfresco dining or for simply relaxing and taking in...

I'm fussy and chose this gite initially becasue the beds looked comfy. They were! The house is in a beautiful, peaceful area of France. The bedrooms are all spacious. The kitchen and outside eating area both great for all sitting round as a family. The pool is fantastic! All well kept and clean. We would all come back. Thank you...

Management response:

Many thanks for this lovely review. Having has a holiday ourselves where the beds were awful we decided we would make sure that we provided comfortable beds. Very glad you agree that is the case and that you have enjoyed your holiday, the location and the other facilities. You would of course be welcome to stay again. should you decide...

The living accommodation was very comfortable with a delightful al fresco eating area on a sheltered patio. The pool is first class and big enough to easily accommodate eight people. Lots of grassy playing space for kids and adults! If a fault is to be found it is a little remote if looking for village life.

Management response:

Many thanks for the review. Our local village is quiet, but you can be at St Ferreol or Revel in 20 minutes and Castelnaudary in 10 minutes where there are plenty of amenities for holiday maker. Makes for a tranquil holiday that can be lively when you want it to be. 😊

As 2 families with 4 children between us this property could not have been any better. The pool is amazing and everyone made the most of it in the beautiful french weather. The house was a lovely size and Brian and Angela have thought of everything you could possibly need to make it home from home. Le Moulin is situated...

Management response:

Many thanks for this lovely review. A great description of how families can enjoy our gite. 😊

About the neighborhood
Castelnaudary is the capital of the 'Pays de Lauragais region and a town of charm and history. It sits astride the Canal Du Midi and is famous for its haricot bean dish Cassoulet, the festival for which (Fete Du Cassoulet) is held each year during the 7 days that make up the last week of August .

You do not have to wander too far before you will find fabulous views of the Pyrenees across the Carcassonne planes or the ' La Halle Aux Grains' in the centre of town, right next to the new tourist office. Wander down the main street and you will pass the 'Marie's' office on the left before arriving at the Canal Du Midi. Turn left to go along the 'Quai Du Port' with the 'Grand Bassin' beyond, some 7 hectares in size. A good time to see it is on the 13th J...
