On arriving at this property you become mesmerized by the very real sense of life in the tropical paddy fields, surrounded by palms and in audible reach of the temple. Peacocks and buffalo are regular sightings alongside the beautiful bird song and electric sounds of nature.
Through the private gates you arrive at the recently completed Boundary House which is situated in the middle of the paddy fields and has its own vegetable and herb garden. The house is shaped on a curved line and consists of two adjoining buildings.
Walking onto the white colonnaded veranda, it is easy to admire the considered planning of this property and notice that all of the internal space is sealed with glass windows and well fitted teak frames so that the rooms can be effectively cooled by A/C and overhead fan...

Tranquil idyll minutes from historic Galle
Surrounded by paddy fields and only a short tuk tuk ride from the busy and bustling Unesco Heritage Galle Fort, Boundary House is a perfect setting for a family or groups wishing to explore this amazing part of the country. Sanghara the manager couldn’t have been more accommodating. And his cooking is excellent. This brand new property is light, airy and spacious. Bedrooms all have en-suite bathrooms, Air-Con etc. And the pool is delightful. I loved watching the peacocks strut about the paddy fields as I swam. The south coast beaches are all within easy reach if you want to get out and about, but frankly, it was just as lovely to chill out and catch up with friends. Would highly recommend.

Paradise
Boundary House is a perfect place to spend a weeks holiday. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. You can swim proper lengths in the beautiful pool overlooking paddy fields with monkeys climbing the palm trees. The staff couldn't have been friendlier and the chef cooks excellent meals - some of the best curries in Sri Lanka! There is plenty to do as it is near to Galle and also to a wonderful swimmable beach. We enjoyed renting bikes and touring around nearby villages. Hope to return again soon.

Paradise in the paddy fields
Recently returned from trip to Galle - a highlight of which was our stay at Boundary House. Just a few minutes from Galle Fort (which we loved), the house sits on an island, surrounded by paddy fields, with hills in the near distance. The setting is amazing as the house and grounds are slightly elevated so you have a fantastic 360 degree view of the surrounding countryside. We loved the house itself - understated luxury, with fab bathrooms, lovely outside dining area and beautifully designed pool. Monkies and peacocks were regular visitors to the garden. Staff and food were also great, so can hugely recommend this little slice of paradise....

How wonderful
Suzanne and I were lucky enough to stay at the Boundary House in November. It is a wonderful place; extremely comfortable bedrooms with superb ensuites (complete with the best toiletries we had ever come across); amazing location affording privacy, peace and quiet; attentive staff who provide everything you could wish for and monkeys in the trees.
We very much hope to be lucky enough to return in the future!

An oasis of calm ...
We loved the Boundary House. Set on a shaded island amid paddy fields, it combines traditional architecture with modern amenities (comfortable beds, air conditioning, wifi, non-chlorinated pool) to create a perfect hideaway. Lounging on the terrace or by the pool, we watched the farmers at work, marvelled at the extraordinary birdlife, squawked back at the peacocks or just lost ourselves in our thoughts. A 10 minutes’ ride by tuktuk took us to the beach or 20 minutes to Galle. The staff were lovely. They took care of everything, with constant but discrete attention. Suranga, the manager, helped us with excursions and was determined to make our stay as perfect as possible. The chef was excellent and was delighted to lead a cookery class to demonstrate his local dishes. If you’re looking for an oasis of calm away from the hustle and bustle, you will find it here.

Dear Anthony
Thank you so much for your kind review. I am so glad you found the 'oasis of calm' - its magical isn't it. I have visited many villas in SL over the years and agree that the setting and architecture of the Boundary House really allow one to rest and relax. Blissful.
I hope that you'll be back soon and in the meantime are enjoying a wicked SL curry cooked by your fair hand at home.
Best regards

Outstanding luxury stay
We had a wonderful week at the Boundary House, which is planned to perfection and offers unbeatable comfort and style. Very tranquil setting among the paddy fields and the staff maintain the property to the highest standards. All meals were excellent and when not relaxing by the pool there is plenty to do within 20 mins, including visiting Galle, the tea plantation and cinnamon farm, releasing turtles into the sea and walking in the beautiful landscape from the property. The manager Sunagra attended to our every need and our thanks go to him and his excellent team for looking after us so well!

Hidden gem
I was lucky enough to stay at the Boundary house. The term ‘hidden gem’ is over used, but not in this case. The owners have done a remarkable job putting their style into this lovely house, situated perfectly off a peaceful paddy field. You can acclimatise to the Sri Lankan countryside in a luxury setting. The pictures give you a taste of the houses character, in person it will wow you. The attention to detail and aesthetics are superb. The high quality rooms and facilities add to a comfortable luxury stay which can be adapted to a fun family gathering. The service and welcome could rival the highest end of hotels! All in all, throughly recommended and a real treat.

Thank you so much for your kind review. I also hesitate to use 'hidden gem' but agree its hard not to in this case. For sure the Boundary House is 'off the beaten track' so in that respect it is 'hidden' and I completely agree with all else that you say so the word 'gem' is also fitting.
Thank you for coming to stay and please come again.

An excellently appointed and spacious villa close to historic Galle.
The villa is a ten minute tuk-tuk from Galle and a five minute tuk-tuk from the beach. Excellently appointed throughout, it offers both rooms of privacy and large communal areas. Also, a welcoming pool in the attractive and spacious garden. We particularly enjoyed the local cuisine, the trips to Galle with its fort, shopping and other delights, and our bicycling trips up and down wooded slopes and through the paddy fields. Also, a sort of cricket match in the garden! Excellently looked after by the attentive staff, we had a most relaxing and enjoyable stay.

Superb property in an enchanting, peaceful location.
This spacious property has been built recently with a great deal of care and style to a very high standard. It is set in a lovely, serene location but within easy reach of Unawatuna and Galle. The pool is particularly enticing; lying on a sunbed watching kingfishers and other birdlife darting through the nearby trees was a very special and memorable experience. We were very well looked after throughout our stay by the friendly and quietly attentive staff.

Perfect family retreat on an island surrounded by rice paddies.
Fantastic location just minutes in a tuk-tuk from Galle. The beautiful pool, chef-prepared food, bedrooms (with beautiful bathrooms) were all amazing and the staff could not do more to ensure our stay was seamless and enjoyable.
