Nice quite cul-de-sac very near the Loch imrich. Newtonmore is a small village with a local co op. The house is nice but with small open garden. The book of details and useful information needs to be updated. The walks in the area are beautiful and varied. Beautiful countryside.

Well where do I start. I have been coming to Newtonmore with family and friends for over 10 years. It is a place we call our second home the kids have grown up and mamyba time be found down at river and skimming stones and finding wildcats in the town they have not found before. We decided to do Christmas and New Year in Newtonmore and what an experience. Ceilidh Is a wonderful property that is far bigger than the photographs show. The kitchen had a full refit and we as a family weee so aware of keeping this beautiful property all clean and tidy. The house is in a great location across from the Highland Museum ( however it closes between October and April for reference) near to the pub and Co-Op down the road. The owner Mark was a pleasure to talk to and help. If you need a property in Newtonmore then look no further if you have a large family or two sharing. All I can say it you won’t be disappointed and enjoy.

Located in a small quiet cul-de-sac in Newtonmore, Highlands Ceilidh really is an ideal base for touring, cycling and walking. The house is huge and comfortably furnished with excellent heating and hot water as befits a relatively new build. If you're staying with dogs the lack of enclosed garden could be a problem but there are loads of good walks on your doorstep; Wild cat walk along the River Spey and Glen Banchor are lovely. We took 4 mountain bikes with us and storage was a challenge as the garage is not in use. We ended up storing them in the utility room which meant access to the freezer became a little difficult at times!! There are lots of peaceful cycling trails in the area on quiet roads and tracks with plenty of wildlife to spot. I wish we could have stayed longer!

Excellent house, lots of room and very comfortable beds and sofas. Very well equipped kitchen and easy access to Newtonmore. Dog loved it but if your dog is prone to running off there is no fencing at all to keep them in. Our dog was fine but I can imagine others might disappear off down the road. Would have liked an extra TV and DVD player in the smaller living room as somewhere for the kids to disappear to after a busy day searching for cats (see The Wildcat Experience for more info) but we managed with the one TV. Excellent value for money considering how much house you get and the owners couldn't have been more helpful before and after our booking was made.

Lovely spacious house. The property was well presented, very clean. We rented the property as we have friends living in the village it is a great location. We had a dog with us and a down side was that the garden wasn't fenced.

We booked this accomodation for a break over the festive period. It's a lovely, clean spacious house. The kitchen was well stocked and the owners left us a welcome pack for our arrival. Excellent accomodation and would thoroughly recommend it.

Just come back from a two week stay in Newtonmore. The house was lovely. As a party of six, Three teenagers, three adults & a dog, we had plenty of space. The biggest problem for us was the garden was not secure. We had read other reviews and knew that this might be a problem. We took a wind breaker thinking that this would be a deterrent for the dog, but the garden was open at two sides of the house. Other than this the house ticked the boxes :-)

I stayed with my daughters, grandchildren (aged 4,6,7 and 12) and dog. Each of us had their own space for fun or relaxation. The only drawback for us was an open garden without any fence. The hous is good size for big family like mine and so well equipped and clean. Newtonmore is a beautiful place with a few nice cafes, we like to visited "Wild Flour Cafe" - very friendly for children and fantastic coffee. It was afantastic time for all of us.

Property is of a size and so well equipped that its description and photographs on its web site pay it scant justice. It is spotlessly clean, well furnished with quality fixtures and fittings. It is located in a beautiful and very quiet cul-de-sac. It is only a 5 minute walk from local pubs/hotels and restaurants. All in all one of the very best self catering properties I have had the pleasure of staying over the past 30 years. I could not recommend it more highly!

I stayed with my husband and three children(aged 23,21 and 16). The location allowed us to do lots of walks and enjoy the Cairngorm area, in what was one of the best weeks weather wise of the year. It was good to have the garden to do a bit of relaxing after our outings and ran our daily swingball competitions. The house was clean and well decorated and I liked the separate "quiet room" away from the TV. We also made use of the free tennis courts in the Village and the bowling greens for a nominal donation. There were lovely sands at Laggan and enjoyed a paddle. Newtonmore had a few cafes and the scones in the "Wild Flour Cafe" are recommended. There was more to do in Aviemore which was only a short drive away.

About the neighborhood
In Newtonmore itself is the National Folk Museum, with nostalgic recreations of houses and a schoolroom from a bygone age, as well as the clan Macpherson museum. Both are free. A little further afield is the Highland Wildlife Park and the Laggan Wolftrak for cyclists.
