We just made another visit to Riverdale Lodge in Symonds Yat. This time a Family Pre-Christmas get together. We enjoyed the property so much last year we booked it again. It was Amazing, what a location and the property was very clean and had everything we needed. In addition, we had asked the Owners if they could possibly give the place a Christmassy feel. Wow they really did that, we arrived and there were 3 Christmas Trees, which we all loved! It was a short walk to the village pub, where we had a really nice meal on Saturday evening. On Sunday we went for a walk through the forest and over the bridge over the River Wye. The property is really spacious and even has Table Football and a Pool table, so ideal for a family holiday. We will definitely be booking this property again!!! We are becoming regulars, and why not, the location is Brilliant, and the Lodge has everything we need, including table football and a pool table for the kids and adults!!! Brilliant

This is the second year we have stayed in this amazing house. It’s perfect for our wider family(aged from 11 to 79) with something for everyone. Pool table, table football, everything you could need in the kitchen including an oven large enough to cater for 14 of us. All spotlessly clean on our arrival. And lots to do locally - butterfly farm, canoeing and paddle boarding, steep walks up the hills for those with lots of energy and flatter more gentle walks for those whom prefer a gentle stroll. Already booked for next year!

The views of the forest and the river from the house, terrace and garden are simply breathtaking - changing as the light shifts during the day and encouraging peaceful relaxation. At the same time the zip wire is probably the most exciting in the west and the pool a perfect size and temperature - a real bonus in the heatwave. There are great pubs to eat at on the riverside nearby but we also loved family meals and BBQs on the terrace and in the spacious dining room. Plenty of room too for the popular table football and pool table. It was special feeding the goldfish in the lily pond and then slipping down to the river via a magical secret path for brilliant adventure walks or for painting. The owners could not have been more helpful when belongings were mistakenly left behind!

We had a wonderful time at Riversdale Lodge celebrating a 60th birthday with 3 generations of family. The house is very spacious and well equipped and we loved the welcome pack. The pool was wonderful and a lovely temperature. We especially enjoyed the easy access to the Wye from the house so we could launch our kayaks. A very special week

Our group had a fantastic stay at Riversdale Lodge, the setting and views across the river wye are truly amazing, and can’t be done justice in photos! The pool is big enough for a large group to enjoy and was perfect for the hot weather! The home is lovely and cosy inside, but was still surprisingly large and fitted us all well, the games rooms was our particular favourite! The many bedrooms and en suite bathrooms are a big plus as everyone has their own space. The terrace provides a great casual area and stunning views, and there is even a permanent bbq to the side of the house! Chrystel was great and very helpful with communication and provided extensive suggestions of pubs, walks and things to do. Some of the braver of our group even climbed the pinnacle which can be seen from the house! The welcome pack was also a lovely touch! We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend!

Booked for a family get together to celebrate my daughters 18th. Beautiful grounds including a heated swimming pool. House was well equipped, clean and dog friendly. Short walk along the river to Ye Olde Ferrie Inn pub for great food. Will definitely be returning in the future, many thanks Chrystel 😊

Had such a fantastic time in this wonderful house celebrating our joint 60th Birthdays with our family of 12. Honestly you can’t ask for much more than this house in this spectacular location. The house is big spacious and has something for everyone. The kids, loved the pool, zip wire, trampoline and the walks just outside the gate to the river and beyond. The tranquil sound of the river and the ambience is exactly what was needed for us stressed out adults after the last 2 years. Swimming in the pool surrounded by the trees and watching the peregrines in the distance is really something. Lots of lovely walks, pubs and activities in walking distance. The house has every thing you could need and is very well stocked, clean and tidy. Chrystel is very accommodating and handover was very smooth. I can’t wax lyrical enough about this place and will definitely be returning. Thank you!

My partners father booked for his 70th birthday to bring the whole family together. There were 11 of us and the house was perfect. Large rooms, lots of space, lovely pool and well kept gardens. The area is stunning. You can walk for miles. 2 nice pubs in walking distance. 1 requires the hand ferry which does not run after 6pm unless by prior arrangement. We cooked every night but one. Everything you need is in the kitchen. Big Morrisons and Aldi in Ross on Rye. M&S and Waitrose in Monmouth. Definitely recommend a stay.

Held my Wife's 50th Birthday celebrations at Riversdale and I have to say, we have the most fantastic time. The accommodation was more than expected, plenty of room, very clean and the house was very well equipped - perfect for the 12 of us staying. Set in stunning landscape overlooking the Wye which made for great viewing watching the Kayaks tackle the rapids. The pool was surprisingly warm for May and with the Games room in the house kept us all entertained. I could not fault Riversdale in any area, what also made our stay even better was the extremely kind and informative way that Chrystel dealt with any of my questions leading up to the weekend - as I said Simply Superb and we will be booking again!! Just had the most amazing weekend away. Fabulous house set in the most beautiful location right on the river with everything we needed, including being dog friendly, just perfect. Lovely friendly owner, would definitely re-visit when the lovely outdoor pool is open!
