A beautiful house in a lovely village with fab hosts.
We rented an appartment in the beautiful Can Fressa house. There is a lovely shared pool and garden. Everything is clean and well kept. Everything you could possibly need is provided and if there is anything else needed Maria will make it help you get it. The hosts Maria and Jose are genuine good people, warm, friendly and helpful. The house is right in the middle of the village of Alaro which has lots of restaurants, 2 supermarkets, banks etc. It is a traditional Mallocan village with some tourists. There is a walk to a castle with amazing mountain views and a rustic restaurant en route, made famous by Rick Stein when he filmed it for his Mediterranean series. The lamb was delicious.

About the neighborhood
Alaro is a romantic place in the middle of the Sierra de Tramuntana. After a good glass of wine and a nice dinner you don't have to take the car to get home, you can walk because the house is located in the village, 5 minutes from the main square. For outdoor lovers Alaro offers amazing walks and cycling in the mountains. For those who like a taste of the island - some of the best vineyards and restaurants are only a short drive away.
Getting around
Although it is not a must, we strongly recommend to rent a car when staying in Alaro. Alaro is centrally located and with a car you visit many beautiful places on the island. Mallorca has so many places to explore, so if you want to discover in an easy way, a car is the best option.
Alaro is not well connected with public transport. There is a bus going to the train station in Consell and from there it is possible to take the train in the direction of either Inca or Palma, but to go to places like Valldemosa, Sant Elm, Cala Figuera or Estrenc, you will need a car.
Please note that roads in Alaro are very narrow. We recommend renting small cars rather than MPVs.
