An incredible experience for us and our guests! Our stay was outstanding!
We worked with Sylvain to put together a truly, memorable 3 days for us and our 28 guests plus 2 toddlers to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. The chateau and its surroundings are exquisite with rich history. Sylvain and Axel are wonderful hosts. We felt like royalty in the days of Marie Antoinette. Lavish breakfasts and dinners, including a delicious 8-course Marie Antoinette feast, a welcome reception with cheese, cider & pommeau and a pianist serenading us, cocktail hours, a costumed ball with masks and wigs, a dance lesson on dances of the Marie Antoinette era, a cooking class, tours of the Normandy beaches, Mont St. Michel, the Chateau de Crevecoeur, Honfleur, Deuville, Trouville, the Bayeux tapestry, and Monet's house and gardens in Giverny. Sylvain had also arranged for a Hot Air Balloon, although the weather did not cooperate. The transportation and guides Sylvain arranged were excellent. Whatever we wanted, Sylvain made it happen. It was truly an incredible, memorable experience for all of us. It was perfect!

Family celebration
The Chateau is steeped in history and the minute we saw it there was the wow factor. The grounds are beautiful and very lush and green. We were a large family party with small children and we felt very safe. The children had a blast in the swimming pool and the cinema room. The owners Sylvain and Axel were always extremely helpful and kind, tendering to any of our needs. The breakfast was delicious and Chantelle who prepared it was very nice. Our only disappointment was the outside pool was not operational and considering the temperature was 28 degrees we would have enjoyed this. My small criticism is that there are certain parts of the Chateau, which the owners know about could do with updating. We had a wonderful time.

A couples stay
We recently stayed for one night at the chateau. It’s has beautiful grounds which are peaceful and tranquil. The interior has been renovated to fit with the building to feel truly like a chateau castle. There was no air con and the radiator was on in our room so we were very warm but the bed was comfortable and facilities were great. Ideal location for a wedding family gathering or romantic retreat. The lady who checked us in didn’t know a word of English so make sure you brush up in French speaking skills.

Best place ever to celebrate with friends and family!
My husband and I had several milestones over the past year....we both turned 60, had our 38th Wedding Anniversary and retired from owning our own law firm!!! It was time to celebrate..... I booked La Vie de Chateau - Chateau de Villers-Bocage and worked closely with Sylvain and Axl to make it the most entertaining week for our 33 guests!!! Our home for the week was one of the most amazing places to stay....the comforts of today....but the feel of the 16th and 17th Century! Truly amazing! We toured the Normandy Beaches, cemeteries ,Bayeux , Caen and Mont Saint Michel with professional tour guides and travelled in the comfort of a coach bus...all mind blowing from the history to the scenery... We arranged for a Michelin Star Chef to come to the Chateau , a 16th Century Costume Ball and dinner, French picnics and free time to cycle through the countryside, walk to town ,swim , have a spa treatment and drink lots of fabulous French wine! Sylvain and Axl are so great to work with and La Vie de Chateau - Chateau de Villers-Bocage is breathtaking .....it was home to all of us..we turned back in time! A must place to visit...... Sylvain and Axl - Cheers to you..job well done!!!

WOW!
WOW! We were a group of 6 couples that spent 8 fantastic days at Chateau de Villers – Bocage. We fell in love with the chateau as soon as we saw it from the long driveway amazingly illuminated on the evening of our arrival. The chateau itself is an amazing house, large (we occupied about one third of it) but really feels like home. The bedrooms are spacious with high ceilings very nicely decorated and really comfortable. The living rooms with the fire places are large and you can seat and relax for hours. We enjoyed dining in the main fantastic dining room, and the second dining room on the lower level with its open kitchen is something out of this world. The indoor swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna make you want to stay in the house nonstop. We came to the house as a base for exploring Normandy, and it is just perfectly located, with easy short drives everywhere in this part of France. Those of us who exercise have enjoyed immensely Jogging and walking around in the vast area surrounding the chateau. It seems endless. From the house we conveniently visited the D – Day landing beaches, Mont saint Michel, Bayeux, the Calvados region and many more places. The one major mistake was that eight days did not leave us with enough time to fully enjoy the chateau itself and the many indulging opportunities it offers. As for the hosts and hospitality, I can hardly find words to describe the way we were treated by Sylvain and Axel. The house was perfectly ready for us, there was not even one request that took more than minutes to be fulfilled. They both were extremely helpful with any question we might had and solved immediately any problem that appeared (we did not really have any serious one). They went far above and beyond what you’d expect from hosts in a rented house, and we stayed in others all over the world. It looks like Axel and Sylvain found the secret formula for how to combine a luxury house with warm, friendly and efficient hospitably, provided at the highest possible level. As one of our friends phrased it when we landed back home: "it feels like we were expelled from The Garden of Eden". We warmly recommend the Chateau and Sylvain and Axel.

Extraordinary and amazing experience at Chateau de Villers-Bocage
We are a group of 6 families, a total of 24 persons who spent 10 nights in the chateau with the purpose to experience and live the history of this part in France. we did have very high expectations from the Chateau and the area. I am happy to say that the experience we had, was way beyond our expectations. we just cannot fully describe the contribution of the amazing hosts that took a special care of us, including assistance in planning our tour to the amazing area. The Chateau offered a unique and non-forgettable experience. the rooms, pools, sauna, Jacuzzi, cinema theater made it so hard to get our kids out of the Chateau! Thank you Axel and Sylvaine,
