Afterglow Cottage is a 3 level home which provides ample room for you and your family, plus guests with it's 4 queen beds, 1 double and 1 twin; you'll have room for up to 11! 3 large couches and multiple seating areas make sure everyone's comfortable and has room to stretch out. An extra spacious master, complete with it's own deck overlooking the water, a water view reading loft and elegant en suite, will ensure you end each day feeling rested and begin each day rejuvenated.
On the outside, Afterglow provides even more space: a large, furnished 30' x 8' wrap-around deck where you can relax in the sun as the kids play on the swingset or at the badminton net. A horse shoe pit for the adult competitors. And a fire pit where everyone can gather at the end of the day to roast marshmallows and witness the spectacular sunset afterglow that PEI is famous for!
Located in beautiful West Covehead, you are just 5 minutes from the white sandy beaches of the Stanhope National Park to which you'll get free access with our complimentary Park Pass. Other nearby attractions include the Stanhope Golf and Country and Club, just 5km away and the Covehead Harbour with deep-sea fishing, private charters and licensed dining just 6.5 km away. This was our third year at Afterglow and have yet to be disappointed. This cottage (summer home) has everything needed to accommodate the three generations of our family. The kids have a ball with the the private playground and lit's large area allows them to play and run free. Our campfires at night are the highlight of the day when we all get together. It's a short drive to beautiful beaches and Charlottetown with all its amenities. Water views from every window is the added bonus for relaxation time.
It's a place where family memories are made.

Fabulous PEI Vacation Spot!
We had an amazing week at Afterglow! The cottage is gorgeous, spacious and fully-equipped. Tons of room to entertain and comfortably sleep our 4 adults & 6 kids. The large wrap-around deck was perfect for morning coffee, taking in the sunset and star-gazing. Even caught a glimpse of the resident bald eagle! It's a short distance to Brackley Beach and several other amazing beaches. Also close to Charlottetown, the drive-in and Island Hill Farm - which was a huge hit with the kids and adults alike. Afterglow was the perfect spot for our vacation and for exploring PEI!

Beautiful house on a beautiful island
Close to PEI national park & beach, this well equipped, extremely comfortable spacious modern home was a great base for all sightseeing and trips to the beach. Sam the bald eagle was there to greet us most mornings - occasionally joined by his partner and the peace & quiet of this tranquil location was wonderful - though you do need a car. Sunset from the deck with a glass of one of the Annapolis Valley's splendid wines was a lovely end to each day. Everything we needed in the house had been thought of (apart from a full length mirror perhaps?). Ken the property manager was helpful & accommodating. Great trips - clam digging kayak adventure in Victoria, Top Notch Charter's lobster fishing and an outing to the harness racing. Restaurants - Pearl Eatery in Rustico was excellent and the Row House in Charlottetown, outdoors listening to live music was really lovely.

Great stay
My family and I have been to PEI many times, we stayed at a few cottages over the years, and now we think we found a place we will come back to time and time again.
We stayed a week at afterglow and loved it!
The kids room and bunk bed are awesome, the kitchen is up to date with cooking equipment, pots and pans.
The tv's have Netflix and the furniture is modern and comfortable.
The views from either side are amazing as well as a swing set and fire pit outside, with a nice raised deck to watch the sunset.
An awesome visit and will be back next year.

Incredible cottage
Our family rented the cottage with 2 other couples. There were 6 adults and 3 young children (ages 1-2) and there was plenty of room for all of us .
We thoroughly appreciated the kids room fully outfitted with games, toys and books for children of all ages. There is an outdoor play area and even games for the adults to enjoy once the kids were asleep:)
The cottage is spacious and clean with a gorgeous view of the water and sunset. The outdoor space is comfortable and the indoor/outdoor furniture is comfortable and modern. There are beach towels and a laundry facility that is up to date and organized. The bedrooms are spacious and beautifully decorated and the kitchen is stocked with appliances and all the items needed to make everyone (including the kids) a meal.
Ken, the property manager was helpful and brought us a playpen, a highchair and a beach umbrella. He checked in on us to make sure we had everything we needed. The only suggestion we had was to include some salad bowls and salad spinner so that paper towels don't have to be wasted drying salad (the towels, toilet paper, dish and laundry soap were all provided!).
We highly recommend this cottage and would stay there again.

Beautiful and fully equipped property with a fantastic view!
Our family stayed at Afterglow Cottage for the first two weeks of July. Not only was it brand new, but it was beautifully appointed with top of the line furnishings, appliances, cookware, etc. The three queen-sized bedrooms and bathrooms comfortably accommodated the 6 adults while the downstairs "bunk-bed" room was perfect for the two children, ages 7 and 8. There was a full range of toys, books, games and movies for children which kept ours entertained throughout the stay!
Our most memorable moments were spent enjoying the sunset on the deck, photographing the resident bald eagles and roasting marshmallows over the fire pit.
We were pleased to see that the owners supported recycling. The only suggestions for improvement, from our perspective, would be to install a dimmer for the dining room light fixture and to add a few salad bowls in the kitchen;)
Ken, the property manager, gave us a warm welcome and was attentive throughout our stay. We would stay again!
