- Location:
The location is very good for those seeking peace and serenity, as it is not a busy area and there is great view from the balcony.
Xigia beach is very close, but note it is not the nicest beach. It is pebbly, very small and not everyone likes the sulphor theme. We liked Alykanas beach, which is a 20 min. drive. The nearest large supermarket is also in Alykanas.
There are many tavernas around, and it would be difficult to find a bad one.
- The property:
The villa is part of a 4 villa complex, but you have sufficient privacy. The layout is not the most convenient, as it is built with three small levels.
The lower level has two bedrooms, one double and one twin. Not the nicest furnishing, but the kids enjoyed having their own floor. The lower floor also has a bathroom with shower and washing machine and exit to the pool. The pool area also has a built BBQ and outdoor dining table.
The middle floor hosts the living room, kitchen and a small bathroom. The living room opens to a balcony.
Upstairs you have a double bedroom and bathroom with a tub.
The villa is well equipped with everything you need, including basic kitchen stuff - milk, eggs, bread, juice, water, coffee, sugar, spices, etc.The kitchen also has all of the utensils and facilities needed: Oven, stove (electric), kettle, toaster and even an espresso machine - too bad it did not work.
The living room has a flat screen TV, mounted a bit too high, a DVD player with some DVDs, a set top box that should allow you to watch some channels (I did not try) and a small amplified speaker you can connect your device to. It was a bit tricky to connect my laptop to watch some movies, I would suggest to leave an HDMI cable connected to the TV, so it would be easier.
There is an A/C unit in every room, and it works well.
There is ample supply of linen and towels in the closets, so you won't run out.
The pool is also great, and there were some inflatables to use.
Note that the driveway is very steep, and entering the parking is not for non confident drivers.
Maintenance:
Cleanliness was generally good, except for some dirt and spider webs under the beds and in hard to reach corners.
There are many ants around - so you have to keep it clean, as they will parade at any crumb left behind.
When we arrived, some things required maintenance - busted bulb, broken shower hose and such. Lenny was very helpful and fixed it for us.
The A/C in the top bedroom was leaking pretty bad onto the closet, and it was only fixed when we departed, so that was a bit annoying, and also made part of the closet unusable.
The bathrooms are pretty dark. I would have appreciated some more light. The water pressure is pretty weak, but that may be attributed to the location and not the property.
Overall, although there are some minor improvements that can be done, the stay was pleasant and the villa did the job. We were all happy to stay there.
