I have travelled extensively, but this has been my all time favourite, and can't wait to go back back next year.
The electric gates when you arrive make you feel tucked away and safe, especially if you have smaller children. The side access to the properly and when you park the car feels nice and private.
There is a small decked area outside the door with table and chairs/bench, which then leads out onto an amazing huge deck with an umbrella'd summer glass table, this over looks the amazing grounds, where there are sheep, and a pond and across to another proper a deer park. Both my 5yo and 12yo were in love with this property and spend many a time with the binoculars left in the room upstairs.
The owners were just adorable, they gave the children food to feed the fish and had no worries about them running around the lawn, or picking the apples off the apple tree... (btw the apples make the most delicious apple crumble, we made 2!!).
We were home in the UK for a funeral and we were receiving grandparents and little cousins for drinks and dinner, and this was no problem at all. They were made to feel v welcomed and the owners spent time talking to us all explaining their future plans for the property.
The accommodation is lovely, the sitting room is cosy and sunny, and the children we super happy to find entertainment and DVDs there. The kitchen is v large and has all amities ( dishwasher/washing machine/toaster etc), there is a large dining table that seats 6 easily.
Upstairs is beautiful, it has a cottagey feel. There is plenty of cupboard and drawer space, also hairdryer/iron etc. The bathrooms are really lovely, new, clean, large and the rain shower is to die for! There was extra towels and pillows provided too. The bed was super comfortable also!
We thoroughly enjoyed waking through the field to the lanes, and also the Lovely Aubrey Arms pub.... well worth a visit. Great for people who like to jog too!
By Car - Close by there is a fab equestrian centre, a mini village shop 1 min away, a massive tescos and M&S 10 mins away.. and as you are on the A48 you have great access to either Cardiff or Swansea/Gower way.Theres also fruit picking, and petting farms etc, and a trip to Margam park/castle is not too far. Ogmore By Sea and The Mumbles are also accessible and fun for a beach/walking day trip.
This would be a lovely romantic get away for a couple, a great fun stay for a family with younger or older children, whether wanting to relax or head out and be adventurous!
The children didn't want to leave, and neither did we. I will be back next year for a longer period and look forward o catching up with the Evans's.
