***Special announcement: We've just added new beds and high-quality pocket-sprung mattresses to all rooms in all lodges!***
Heather Lodge is one of our single-storey, 2- to 4-berth lodges. It’s furnished to create a cosy atmosphere that’ll remind you of times past. Heather Lodge is your home from home, but with the added benefit of loch and mountain views from the large picture window.
The lodge has a sheltered veranda with seating, from which you can take in the view or watch our resident pine martens frolic. They’ve been seen as early as 9 am but usually emerge after about 6 pm.
We're in a rural area with poor internet connectivity, so the lodges do not have wifi, but the mobile phone towers in the area give most guests a good 3G signal.

About the neighborhood
Great Glen Lodges are in a really special and remote but accessible part of the Highlands, just near Loch Ness. The site is on the shore of Loch Lochy, which joins Loch Oich and Loch Ness via the Caledonian Canal.
We provide self-catering accommodation—each cabin has its own kitchen, in which guests prepare their own meals. Because this area of Scotland is quite remote, we suggest that guests buy food and other provisions from one of the nearest big towns like Fort William (27 miles) before they get here. Although there are shops nearby, many guests will be arriving too late to find them open. The wonderful pubs and restaurants near us tend to serve food until only about 8pm, and some are open seasonally only from March or April.
Our postcode is PH34 4EB. Enter Great Glen Lodges, Kilfinnan, PH34 4EB into your GPS/Sat Nav or online map service to get here.
Note that some GPS/Sat Navs might tell you that you have reached your destination when you get to Kilfinnan Farm. We’re a bit further on from the farm, however. Just carry on up the hill and along the track a little way until you reach the Great Glen Lodges sign at the top of the road.
Please also be aware that the last quarter-mile or so is an unadopted rough-track road. Though it gets regraded each year, it can sometimes be quite bumpy, so a bit of care needs to be taken. A normal car can easily negotiate the track, but you’ll want to drive slowly and not rush things.
How to get there
Airport: Inverness: 46.0 mi
Railway: Spean Bridge: 16.2 mi
Approaching from Inverness: - Drive south on the A82 until you reach the village of Invergarry. - Stay on the A82 for a further 2 miles until you reach the Well of the Seven Heads, on the banks of Loch Oich. This is a well-known historical site and the closest shop to Great Glen Lodges. - Take the next turn right after the Well of the Seven Heads, signed Balmaglaster, Kilfinnan. Care should be taken as this is a single-track road. - Continue along this road for approximately 2-and-a-quarter miles until you reach Kilfinnan Farm. This is the end of the tarmac road. - Continue driving up the hill and along the rough forest-track for a further quarter-mile until you reach the entrance for Great Glen Lodges, second on the left-hand side.
