Lovely Place, Great facilities
We visited this place at very short notice following a holiday cancellation. Location 4* in a quiet street, access can be difficult if you have a large car, Long narrow south facing garden which would be fabulous in the summer. My only disappointment is that it is a good 20 min walk into Broadstairs, which would be ok in the summer but not February! Only a couple of pubs within walking distance (one does not do food) Facilities 5* lounge is cosy with smart TV. Kitchen/ dinner room Wow - the kitchen is better equipped than my kitchen! and very spacious with a south facing aspect. There is a games room in the cellar and tons of games for the kids. Bedrooms are comfortable and reasonable size 2 Bathrooms 0ne upstairs with Bath ,separate shower and toilet and 1 downstairs shower and toilet only. Cleanliness 5*+ Spotless Garden is very long but well laid out and equipped with garden furniture Lastly the owner 5*+ +Tracey was very good and flexible, taking our booking at very short notice and allowing us to arrive earlier than the advertised time and offering to allow us to leave late if needed- it wasn't but it was very nice to be offered. This may have been due to no booking either end of our stay but was very thoughtful I have no problems recommending this property

Feels like Home

A very enjoyable stay.
Our Grandchildren enjoyed to walk to the beach only 30minutes. Also the basement with plenty of games and toys.

So Good
As soon as we walked in my wife turned to me and said “thank you” as she knew I’d picked the right place for our break in Broadstairs. Everywhere was immaculate, clean and bright. In the house is everything you’d need and all is of good quality. The rooms are spacious and well furnished and the large, private and tidy garden great for sitting out and al fresco dining. It was late September so we were dubious on the weather but in the end it was glorious and we spent a fair amount of time sitting out. The bedrooms are well set out and the day bed came in handy as our 5 year old granddaughter wanted to spend time with both us and her mummy, Grandad got the day bed!! Both bedrooms are spacious and the beds comfortable. The linen is excellent as are the pillows. Downstairs the lounge is again comfortable and the tV has numerous choices including Netflix and Prime if you are members. The wi-if is also good and the connection firm all around the house. The downstairs playroom was a big attraction for Ava and she dragged grandad down much of the time. The Wii was a big plus and MarioKart was the big winner, though beanbags for oldies was a stretch!! We had only visited Broadstairs once for a day before so we were looking forward to exploring for a whole week. We had our daughter and 5 year old granddaughter with us so with the weather good we enjoyed a couple of days on the beach and in the sea. Joss Bay was great with big rollers on the sea. All in all we had a super time and Seagull Cottage was the perfect base.

Not happy guests!
The house was nicely presented and the children enjoyed the games room downstairs but having left the house on Saturday we are not happy with how we have been treated. Firstly, if you are coming with two cars, do not consider this property as there is only room for one car on the driveway and there is nowhere else to park on the extremely narrow street. We chose to park both cars on the driveway as have young children and thought this was safer but have been severely told off by the owner for slightly blocking the path meaning dog walkers may have had to step off the pavement for two meters during our stay. The road is very quiet and we never saw any other cars driving up or down as there are two other routes so in our opinion there was no danger to dog walkers. Secondly, the internet completely stopped working on the Tuesday morning of our stay. The owner did try to rectify this as quickly as possible but it couldn't be resolved meaning for the rest of our holiday we had no WI-FI which was definitely a severe inconvenience to us. The owner offered a £100 discount to compensate for this which we were pleased to accept. This compensation has now been completely taken away because of a couple of dirty towels and a sink which I think is outrageous. We have never ever had complaints from any of the many properties we have stayed in and made sure we completed the long list of must dos before leaving the property. Because of the way we have been treated with a very snotty email and the taking back of the promised compensation for the lack of internet I would not recommend this property. I have never felt so disappointed leaving a holiday property in all the years we have rented around the UK. I run a business myself and this has just been completely unacceptable.

Fantastic Holiday Home!
Seagull cottage has everything you could wish for in a holiday home and more! Tracey has gone above and beyond with the beautiful decor and the quality of the furnishings throughout. The ottoman beds in the twin room are not only super comfy, but practical with the huge storage space for your suitcases - no one wants to see their cases in the corner of the room when on holiday! The kitchen was well equipped with everything you might need and the basement games room was a massive hit with our two boys (age 9 and 6), they loved having their own den, the multifunction foosball table and the Wii. The location was great, close to Joss Bay and we’d definitely recommend Staple Stores bakery cafe down the road. Our one tip for parking at the house (as the drive is at an angle and Balliol road is narrow with parked cars) is to approach from Reading street, not Beacon road. All in all we had a fantastic stay here and hope to return next year. Thank you Tracey x

Many thanks for a lovely review and it's so nice to hear that you and your boys enjoyed your stay. We know holidays are important and aim to provide our guests with a great experience so your comments are much appreciated. I would agree with your advice on parking. We always approach from Reading Street. We have recently removed the remainder of the front wall to enable easier access. I look forward to welcoming you back again in the future.

Home from home.
Seagull cottage is in a lovely quiet area of Broadstairs. There is a really good local pub a few minutes walk away, but not in earshot. Joss Bay beach is 5 mins in the car or 20 mins walk. There is a locally run bakers just past the pub that sells freshly baked bread, cakes and croissants. They have a seating area if you want a cuppa with your goodies. Just a little further on is an area of land with donkeys, pygmy goats and alpacos. They love to be fed with apples and carrots. Great for kids, and grown ups. Broadstairs town centre is about 30 mins walk. The house and garden has a lovely relaxing feel to them. We went as two couples and we felt there was plenty of room for us all. The house is very nicely furnished and decorated. The living room has two settees and a TV. However we didn't use it as the weather was so lovely. In the kitchen there is everything you need. It has an extension with dining table and settee. There is a cupboard full of games and quizzes for all ages. Downstairs in the basement there is a games room. Again, we didn't use it due to the lovely weather. The garden is so relaxing. It has a lovely sized wooden table and chairs, and also a further seating area. We spent every morning sat in the garden to eat our breakfast, just a fab way to start the day. We also sat outside in the evenings if we were eating in. There is an off road parking area in the front of the house, and parking on the road is free. Tracey the owner was easy to make contact with and very helpful. We would definitely love to stay at Seagull cottage again in the future.

Lovely house in a good location
We spent a lovely week at Seagull cottage. With 4 adults and 2 children ages 5 and 1, the bedrooms felt a tad cramped, however that would not deter us from returning in the future. The house was well organised and had absolutely everything you might need, and it was beautifully decorated and clean. The garden was large and well laid out for a family, our 1 year old grandson loved playing with the gravel! There was a slide and swingball to entertain our older grandson. He also loved the basement games den and now wants the same at home! Lovely beaches nearby, only a 5 minute drive away, and plenty of good restaurants to visit. We went to the Jetty for lunch, Little Scicilian and Kebbells for dinner, and all were very good. Botany Bay was our favourite beach, lots of rockpools to investigate for the children, great fun!

On espère y revenir bientôt!
