This luxurious 1st-floor apartment with 1 double bedroom & 1 Twin bedroom was fully refurbished and opened for bookings in June 2003. Since then we have been updating the apartment's facilities and decor. in the 1st year It was officially awarded the highest rating of the English tourist board - the Five-star Quality Rose, and have kept the Five star rating every year up to now! and for the last 5 years it has been given the even better 5 Star Gold Award!
Ever increasing in popularity, it has been used by visitors from all over the UK and the world - from Hampshire to Hong Kong! We receive many return bookings from our guests, so we are confident that this apartment will provide you with a lovely holiday.
The Bird's Nest is exquisitely decorated and furnished throughout, and care was taken to preserve its natural features which include a period fireplace and exposed floorboards.

Interaction with guests:Â Property owner lives next door, so in the unlikely event of any issues coming up someone is on hand, or if you require any more info on the apartment and surrounding area.
A delightful well-equipped retreat, in attraction filled Matlock Bath.
We visited as a family of four, with our two young children. We found the apartment suited our needs perfectly. It provided everything we could need, and more.
While there, we visited the popular attractions of Abraham Heights and Gulliver's Kingdom, which were both within short walking distance.
There were numerous walking opportunities from the doorstep, along with eateries if required.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this quirky, well-equipped home, to others looking for a comfortable base to explore the area, or even just to chill, in relaxing surroundings.
There isn't a garden, however our needs were met with a games room, and of course the Derbyshire countryside to explore.
Abid and Sue are delightful hosts. Abid provided us with lots of local recommendations, which were highly valued by us as visitors to the area.
We rarely go back to the same place twice, but may make an exception to the rule, should we ever holiday in the area again.

Fantastic welcome find in the beautiful Peak District
Fantastic home from home, catered for every need and lots of lovely extras.
Abid and Sue were fantastic hosts and it was lovely to be able to enjoy their beautiful property.
The flat is in a fantastic location to explore the surrounding towns and countryside.
The property was recommended to me and I definitely would have no problem recommending it to anyone looking for a fantastic holiday.

Amazing place to stay
Bird's nest is a truly wonderful place to stay. It had everything we needed for our Christmas break and the hosts were very attentive. The accommodation is perfectly located and not far from local amenities/attractions. We took our 3 year old with us who loved the space too. We will be returning in the future. Thank you

Truly a home from home
This is one of those places you wish you had found years ago, and previous reviews say it all.
The apartment is a short walk into Matlock Bath, and a pleasant drive to all those places a visitor to Derbyshire will wish to visit. Accomodation is perfect. Comfortable beds ( a must for us ), a well furnished kitchen and the most comfortable lounge with settees, sky tv and a vast library of good books. Heating is by gas central heating and the apartment is always warm and comfortable.
Although a first floor apartment, a stair lift whisks you up and down with no fuss.
Abid and Susan welcome you , almost as part of the family, and are available across the courtyard if needed.
For EV users, a fast charge point is located in Wirksworth, 3 miles away, and Abid has a power socket adjacent to the visitor car space for emergencies.

Fantastic accommodation!
We have recently returned from a week’s stay at Bird’s Nest in Matlock Bath. It is very handy for the Peak District and it’s tourist attractions.
The accommodation comprises of a two bedroom, first floor apartment and it is seriously one of the nicest places we have ever stayed. It is furnished to a very high standard and much thought has gone into providing everything guests need. Very importantly, everywhere was extremely clean and hygienic, which made us feel safe. The hosts were very friendly and most helpful. They provided little touches….. which makes all the difference.
We would definitely recommend this accommodation and would pay a return visit if we ever returned to the area.

5* Central 1st Floor Apartment with Parking!
We booked this apartment from 31st May - 4th June 2021. Before we arrived, we received a courtesy email and were given a warm greeting upon arrival.
There is 1 parking space for the apartment which is perfectly situated at the bottom of the stairs where you can leave your car and walk 600m into Matlock Bath and the local attractions.
We were instantly wowed with the cleanliness of the apartment and the homely feel. There were sanitizer stations at the entrance of the property and non intrusively positioned throughout.
Rooms:
A large spacious living area with plenty of seating, books and DVD.
A fully equipped kitchen with lots of unexpected little extras (tin foil, cling film, milk, selection of drinks, washing powder etc).
2 beautifully designed bedrooms with plenty of storage and lovely bedding.
A lovely bathroom with more unexpected toiletries, additional towels and linen box!
The outdoor games room with table tennis, air hockey, darts and pool was an appreciated, well used bonus at the end of a day filled with adventure!
If you are searching for the best 4 person apartment in Matlock Bath on entertainment doorstep, just far enough away for a quiet nights sleep - this is the perfect small family accommodation!

Best self catering ever.
Never felt more relaxed, defiantly worth all it's 5 star ratings, Everything spot on. Lots of little extras, Soap, shampoo conditioner etc. Everything you need in the kitchen from tea, coffee, milk to kitchen roll and tin foil. Scented candles in every room. Hand sanitizer at front door and upstairs. They have recently had a chair lift fitted. Abid and Susan are lovely and so are the down stairs neighbors. Only stayed 4 nights but wished we could have stayer longer, so much to see and do hear. We will defiantly be going back.

Fantastic accommodation and hosts as a base for Peak District.
Our return visit to The Birds Nest accommodation, Five star amazing apartment fitted out with everything that ones needs for a stay of any length in the area. The hosts Susan & Abid are a fantastic couple nothing is too much trouble for them and as they live very close by are always available for help or advice if required.The area has a variety of places of interest to visit and numerous walks, country houses and castles to take in. We will be making another return visit in the near future.

Visit to Matlock Bath at Illumination time.
Return visit to the Birds Nest appartment. Wonderful location, only 600 yes from the town's visitor centre. Beautifully furnished. Lovely hosts. The town's lights..( the Illuminations) are a bit limited, but to us are quaintly welcoming!. We enjoyed our visit.
