Havannah Blue
Havannah Harbour, Efate, Vanuatu
Hi Hans
Thank you for “Havannah Blue”
All went well from being picked up at the airport, by Emile in his mini bus,
We’ve swum, snorkelled, paddled kayaks, fished then watched the sunset from the balcony with a few quiet drinks at the end of the day. Oops! Forgot to mention “lazing in the hammocks, reading a book or having a snooze down by the water was a necessary part of the day for some!
That’s the beauty of Havannah Blue, you can be really busy and or just relax. Family and group friendly.
A big thanks to your groundsman Dudley, the property was very well presented .We met him, as you advised shortly after our arrival. First thing on the guys agenda was “let’s go fishing” Early starts were arranged and we went out 5 times with him .We caught: barracuda, dog tooth tuna, giant & blue trevally, yellow fin and wahoo. The catch was shared so Dudley, his village and us, all had fish to feast on. I’d recommend that anyone wanting to do the same (catch fish) will need to prearrange it with Dudley (he’s a very good fisho!!) and go out at least 3 times .The conditions & fish biting can change a lot. He also took our group (5 adults) out to the Islands for a school & village visit, snorkelling & to walking tracks to view other points of interest. The snorkelling is amazing, so many different fish and great coral (I’ll send the GoPro footage to you)
Our accommodation for 10 days “Havannah Blue” was as we expected, clean, comfortable and quite spacious. Being a totally solar energy home was new and an education for all of us. Your ‘handy hints/things to know guide’ was easy to follow. Having caught a lot of fish we did eat in most nights but we did go 2 local restaurants. The fish at “Eco Lodge “was excellent and the pizza at “Francesca’s nearly as good. (To be honest, a couple of selections at both places, were a little disappointing.)
Transport as suggested was so easy, just stand outside the front gate and wait for a mini bus .The locals were so good, stopping to talk, help out wherever, making sure we were OK and give any information they could and that was before we got on a bus! , then the same thing when one stopped and we got in, everyone wanted to talk to us .Into Port Villa or around the island , transport wasn’t a problem.( we were thinking of hiring a car but you miss out on all the interaction with the locals if we had)
We are all glad we did our research and found “Havannah Blue” a good time was had by all.
Thanks to you, Dudley, Emile and Mike.
Cheers
